Call for Chapters: Advanced Concepts, Methods, and Applications in Semantic Computing
Full Chapters Due: August 30, 2019 Introduction Semantic computing (SC) is particularly critical for the development of semantic systems and applications that must utilise semantic analysis, semantic description, semantic interfaces, and semantic integration of data and services to deliver their objectives. SC also has enormous capabilities to enhance the efficiency and throughput of systems that are based on key emerging concepts and technologies such as mobile computing, Internet of things (IoT), semantic web, linked data, knowledge graphs, cloud computing, and blockchain technology. Thus, an edited collection of original research that expounds advanced concepts, methods, algorithms, technologies, and applications of semantic computing for solving challenges in real-world domains is vital. Objective The book aims to provide a sound theoretical foundation for the application of semantic methods, concepts, technologies for practical problem solving. It is also designed to be comprehensive and reliable resource for students, researchers, and professionals in the field of semantic computing on how semantic-oriented approaches can be used to aid new emergent technologies. Target Audience The target audience of this book will be composed of professionals and researchers working in the field of semantic computing in various disciplines, e.g. software engineering, systems engineering, knowledge engineering, electronic commerce, computer science, and information technology. Moreover, the book will enable students and upcoming researchers in the various aspects of semantic computing to gain improved expertise, knowledge, and insight on how to tackle real-world problems by using advanced semantic-based concepts, methods, and technologies. Recommended Topics Semantic methods and algorithms Application of semantic technologies Semantic middleware and infrastructures Semantic integration and semantic interfaces Semantics in software engineering and semantic software systems Formal semantics and semantic description languages Semantic-driven processes in systems engineering Semantic-based architectures and systems Semantic cloud architectures and semantic cloud services Semantics machine learning and semantic deep learning Semantic AI and Data Science Semantic Web and linked open data Semantics in IoT and smart cities Semantic and blockchain technology NLP-based algorithms and approaches Semantic-based information extraction Semantic information retrieval Semantic integration of systems and services Semantic approaches for sentiment analysis Semantic approaches for event detection Submission Procedure Students, researchers and professionals are invited to submit on or before August 30, 2019, a chapter proposal of 1,000 to 2,000 words clearly giving a general overview of their proposed chapter in terms of issue, motivation, objective, method/approach/concept, and result/findings of the study that will be reported in the proposed chapter. Authors will be notified by September 2, 2019 about the status of their proposals and sent chapter guidelines. Full chapters are expected to be submitted by August 30, 2019, and all interested authors must consult the guidelines for manuscript submissions at http://www.igi-global.com/publish/contributor-resources/before-you-write/ prior to submission. All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a double-blind review basis. Contributors may also be requested to serve as reviewers for this project. Note: This edited book will accept original manuscripts (previously unpublished) as book chapter submissions, and also papers that might have been previously published in a conference/workshop albeit in its shorter form. However, the content of manuscripts in this category must be expanded with at least 40% additional content to be acceptable as book chapter submission for the edited book. There are no submission or acceptance fees for manuscripts submitted to this book publication “Advanced Concepts, Methods, and Applications in Semantic Computing”. All manuscripts are accepted based on a double-blind peer review editorial process. All proposals should be submitted through the eEditorial Discovery®TM online submission manager. Publisher This book is scheduled to be published by IGI Global (formerly Idea Group Inc.), publisher of the "Information Science Reference" (formerly Idea Group Reference), "Medical Information Science Reference," "Business Science Reference," and "Engineering Science Reference" imprints.
