# Call for Contributions ESWC 2021
ESWC is a key academic conference for research results and new developments in the area of the Semantic Web and Knowledge Graphs. ESWC2021 marks the 18th edition, which will take place from 6 to 10 June 2021, either online or in Heraklion, Greece. ## ESWC2021 features three main tracks: * the Research Track for novel research contributions * the In-Use Track for applications of focus technologies in practice * the Resources Track for data and software supporting the community * Important dates for Research, Resources, and In-Use Tracks * 11 December 2020: abstract submission * 18 December 2020: full submission * 25–29 January 2021: closing of rebuttal period * 22 February 2021: notification of acceptance * 17 March 2021: final submission * All deadlines are 23:59 anywhere on earth (UTC-12). ## Reviewing process In order to stimulate healthy scientific discussion and full transparency, ESWC2021 will follow—for the first time—a completely open and interactive reviewing process using the OpenReview platform. This means that: Submissions will be publicly visible after the full submission deadline Review texts will be publicly visible at the start of the rebuttal period All members of the community are invited to contribute public reviews and comments to submissions and reviews By making the artifacts of the scientific process visible, we aim to realize a fair and accountable process for everyone. Additionally, we want to stimulate scientific discourse at a time where physical barriers make it hard to have such discussions in person. Submissions and public annotations are non-anonymous throughout the entire process. Solicited reviewers are initially anonymous, but can optionally choose to disclose their identity after notification. Authors can opt to have rejected contributions removed from OpenReview after a certain period of time. ## Submission guidelines ESWC welcomes original research and application submissions dealing with all aspects of representing and using Semantic Web technologies and Knowledge Graphs. We encourage theoretical, methodological, empirical, and applications papers. Submitted papers should describe original work, present significant results, and provide rigorous, principled, and repeatable evaluation. We strongly encourage and appreciate links to datasets and other materials used for evaluation as well as to demos and software source code. ESWC will not accept work that is under review or has already been published in or accepted for publication in a journal, another conference, or another ESWC track (public research archives such as ArXiv excepted). The proceedings of this conference will be published in Springer’s Lecture Notes in Computer Science series. Abstracts need to be pre-submitted to OpenReview, followed by a timely submission of the full work. Papers must not exceed 16 pages (including references) and in English. Submissions must be either in PDF or in HTML, formatted in the style of the Springer Publications format for Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS). For details on the LNCS style, see Springer’s Author Instructions. For HTML submission guidance, see the HTML submission guide. Authors will have the opportunity to submit a rebuttal to the reviews to clarify questions posed by program committee members. At least one author per contribution must register for the conference for presentation. Submission must be through the OpenReview Platform. ## Program Chairs Katja Hose, Aalborg University, Denmark e-mail: khose@cs.aau.dk Heiko Paulheim, University of Mannheim, Germany e-mail: heiko@informatik.uni-mannheim.de Oscar Corcho, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Spain e-mail: corcho@fi.upm.es Petar Ristoski, IBM Research, USA e-mail: petar.ristoski@ibm.com Pierre-Antoine Champin, Universite Claude Bernard Lyon 1, France e-mail: pierre-antoine.champin@univ-lyon1.fr Maria Maleshkova, University of Bonn, Germany e-mail: maleshkova@iai.uni-bonn.de |
