HPC-ComCon 2023
Special Session on HPC and Computing Continnum. at the 15th Asian Conference on Intelligent Information and Database Systems (ACIIDS 2023) Phuket, Thailand Conference website: http://www.aciids.pwr.edu.pl Special Session Organizers Prof. Pascal Bouvry Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine Department of Computer Science University of Luxembourg, Luxembourg E-mail: pascal.bouvry@uni.lu Dr. Johnatan E. Pecero Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine Department of Computer Science University of Luxembourg, Luxembourg E-mail: johnatan.pecero@uni.lu Dr. Arijit Roy India-France Raman-Charpak Fellow Department of Computer Science and Engineering Indian Institute of Information Technology, Sri City, India E-mail: arijit.r@iiits.in Objectives and topics: Modern computing techniques can store, process, and analyse large amounts of and diversity of data. These techniques could correlate a variety of datasets to gain insight and offer new services and applications. Among others, technologies that are playing a major role in gaining these capabilities are Internet of Things, Edge Computing, Cloud Computing, HPC and High Performance Data Analytics. Although developed independently, the integration and interconnection of these technologies, referred to as Computing Continuum, has accelerated the growth of data-driven applications and unleashed numerous opportunities for industry, science, individuals, and society at large. This system of systems can execute complex tasks across multiple systems and multiple technologies. At the same time, numerous challenges are associated. This special session aims to provide a space for scientific research to discuss the latest challenges, studies, and progress in the computing continuum, with special focus on the HPC landscape, related to, but not limited to the following topics: • Application development for integrated HPC continuum use cases • Compute, storage, and communication systems management. • Resource management and optimization • AI-powered workflows resource optimization • Managing computation, Scheduling • Performance and scalability • Security of platforms • Artificial intelligence and ML in the HPC continuum • Workflow deployment, orchestration, and monitoring • Programming paradigms/models, algorithms • Bridging Cloud-HPC • Data transfer/communication in the HPC continuum • Software interoperability, compatibility • Management of heterogenous systems • Energy efficiency and green computing on Computing Continuum • Storing and processing data across the continuum • Assessment and statistical analysis of ensemble models • Quantum and HPC Important dates Submission of papers: 14 March 2023 Notification of acceptance: 28 April 2023 Camera-ready papers: 22 May 2023 Registration & payment: 22 May 2023 Conference date: 24-26 July 2023 Program Committee Apivadee Piyatumrong, National Electronics and Computer Technology Center, Bangkok, Thailand Kittichai Lavangnananda, School of Information Technology, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Emmanuel Kieffer, University of Luxembourg, Luxembourg Ezhilmathi Krishnasamy, University of Luxembourg, Luxembourg Julien Schleich, University of Luxembourg, Luxembourg Carlos Jaime Barrios Hernandez, Universidad Industrial de Santander, Bucaramanga, Colombia Andrei Tchernykh, CISESE Research Center, Ensenada, Mexico Ovidiu-Christian Marcu, University of Luxembourg, Luxembourg Harold Castro, Universidad de los Andes, Colombia Joanna Kolodziej, Cracow University of Technology, Cracow, Poland Horacio Gonzalez-Vélez, National College of Ireland, Ireland Matthias Brust, University of Luxembourg, Luxembourg François Coallier, Ecole de Technologie Supérieure, Université du Quebec, Canada Submission All contributions should be original and not published elsewhere or intended to be published during the review period. Authors are invited to submit their papers electronically in pdf format, through EasyChair.
