The Nordic Workshop on Digital Foundations of Business, Operations, Strategy, and Innovation (DBOSI) provides an interdisciplinary arena for scholars from Information Systems, Management, Computer Science, Strategy, Entrepreneurship, among others, who share the interest in digital foundations of business, operations, strategy, and innovation. DBOSI’s main purpose is to help junior and senior scholars with the development of their early work. We provide an opportunity to present and discuss work-in-progress, build professional networks with likeminded scholars across different disciplines, and learn about the state-of-the-art emerging research on digitalization.

This year’s theme is Work and Digital Futures focusing on exploring how emerging technologies transform workplace dynamics and organizational structures. In addition to the main theme we welcome research on the traditional topics related to the digital foundations of business, operations, strategy, and innovation. Submissions using a variety of theoretical and methodological perspectives are encouraged. Both conceptual and empirical papers are welcome from PhD students, young scholars, and senior scholars alike.

Submission instructions

If you are interested in presenting your ongoing research and receiving feedback from leading scholars in the field, please submit an extended abstract of no more than 2000 words (excluding references and tables). Submissions must be in English, in PDF format, submitted at https://event.fourwaves.com/dbosi-26/submission by December 1, 2025. Please make sure you select submission type “DBOSI Workshop” in the submission form.

DBOSI PhD Day
In addition to the main conference, we will be organizing a PhD Day on February 4th 2026. During the PhD Day accepted students will receive mentorship from renowned senior researchers in a friendly environment. You can find more information on the DBOSI-26 website.

The DBOSI-26 Workshop and PhD Day are organized by the University of Gothenburg's Department of Applied IT, Division of Information Systems in collaboration with partner institutions across the Nordic region.
