Call for Papers – Scientific Track (co-sponsored by IEEE)
Data Science stands at the forefront of new scientific discoveries. It plays a significant role in all aspects of our daily lives. The 10th IEEE Swiss Conference on Data Science brings together researchers, developers and innovators. SDS20223 takes place on June 22-23, 2023. Topics of interest We invite international submissions of original research papers related to all areas of Data Science, especially best practice and use-case oriented research work with scientific-technical depth and practical applicability. Topics include but are not limited to the following areas: Data Product Design, Data-Centric Business Models Data-driven Value Creation, Servitization, ecosystems, Service Design and Operations Circular Servitization Business Intelligence Data Warehousing Decision Support Systems Data, Text, and Web Analytics Machine Translation & Multilinguality Question Answering and NLP Applications Information Integration Search & Information Retrieval Semi-Structured and Unstructured Data Pattern Recognition Recommendation Systems Personalization and Contextualization Data Governance Data Fusion Predictive Modelling Abnormal Detection, Adversarial Attacks & Robustness Support Vector Machines Data Mining Classification, Clustering, Object Detection and Semantic Segmentation Un-, Semi- and weakly Supervised Learning Deep Learning Machine Learning Evolutionary Computing and Optimization Feature Selection Fuzzy Computing Hybrid Methods Neural Networks and their Applications Data Management Modeling and Managing Large Data Systems Open Data Data and Information Quality Data Modeling and Visualization Data Structures and Data Management Algorithms Big Data Applications Edge Computing Query Processing and Optimization Data Privacy and Security Fairness, Accountability, Transparency, Ethics, and Explainability Cyber security in relation to data science Domain Specific Applications (e.g. Health, Legal, Industrial, Environmental etc.) Smart Services Submission Full Paper – present high-quality research contributions, including experiments, analysis, or system papers, as well as descriptions of application results. Each submission can have up to 8 pages incl. references. Short Paper – present late-breaking results, work in progress, follow-up extensions, application case studies, or evaluations of existing methods. Each submission can have up to 4 pages incl. references. All submissions must be original works that have not been published previously in any conference proceedings, magazine, journal, or edited book. The review process will be double blind, therefore we ask authors to take specific care to anonymize their submissions reasonably. Concurrent submissions are strictly forbidden. Submission of papers implies the intention to register and present the related content at the conference. The scientific international Program Committee will carefully review the submissions. Excellent content and presentation as demonstrated in the submission are mandatory for acceptance (acceptance rate 2022: 29%). Accepted submissions will be presented in English (as a talk or a poster) by the authors at the conference. As last year, proceedings of all papers presented at the conference will be submitted for inclusion into IEEE Xplore subject to meeting IEEE Xplore’s scope and quality requirements. All submissions must be formatted by following the IEEE 8.5” x 11” two-column format.
