**** SCOPE ****
Modern manufacturing value chains require intelligent orchestration of processes across company borders to maximize profits while fostering social and environmental sustainability. However, despite the overwhelming consent among the relevant stakeholders about the relevance of cross-organizational information exchange for mastering the transition from a linear to a circular economy, privacy concerns related to data sharing still prevail.

The "1st International Workshop on Federated Process Modeling (IWFPM)" aims to bring together researchers, practitioners, and experts to explore novel solutions addressing the intersection of process modeling, cross-organizational collaboration, and privacy-preserving machine learning in the context of modern manufacturing value chains. This workshop will serve as a platform for the exchange of ideas, experiences, and advancements in federated process modeling, with the goal of fostering sustainable, collaborative, and secure practices in the era of interconnected value chains.

**** TOPICS OF INTEREST ****
Federated Process Modeling Techniques:
- Advances in federated modeling of interconnected processes
- Techniques and methodologies for ensuring data privacy
Cross-Organizational Information Exchange:
- Realizing secure data sharing and collaboration in manufacturing value chains
- Privacy-preserving data aggregation and handling
- Ensuring compliance with privacy regulations
Scalability of FL facing systems and infrastructure challenges:
- Coping with computational and communication overhead
- Handling data and system heterogeneity
Incentive Mechanisms for Data Federation:
- Ensuring security and trustworthiness
- Quantification of contributions
- Fair profit-sharing schemes
Orchestrating Manufacturing Value Chains:
- Integrated optimization of value chains
- Real-world Applications of Federated Process Modeling
- Tools and resources (e.g., benchmark datasets, open-source frameworks, …)

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
In order to encourage participation and discussion, this workshop solicits two types of submissions:
• Regular paper submissions about original work not exceeding 10 pages.
• Short paper submissions on recent or ongoing work on relevant topics and ideas not exceeding 5 pages.

**** SUBMISSION GUIDELINES ****
To encourage participation and discussion, this workshop solicits two types of submissions - regular papers and short papers:
- Regular paper submissions about original work not exceeding 10 pages.
- Short paper submissions on recent or ongoing work on relevant topics and ideas not exceeding 5 pages.
Paper submission please refer to (https://www.dexa.org/PaperSubmission).

*** SUBMISSION PROCEDURE ***
Papers submission will be managed using www.easychair.org. If you have used this system previously for other conferences, you can use the same username and password. If this is the first time you are using EasyChair, you will need to register for an account by clicking the "I have no EasyChair account" button. Upon completion of registration, you will get a notification email from the system and you are ready for submitting your paper. You can upload and re-upload the paper to the system by the submission due date.
Online Paper submission: (https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=iwfpm2024)

**** REVIEW PROCESS ****
Submissions to the workshop must not have been published or be concurrently considered for publication elsewhere. All submissions will be peer-reviewed by at least 3 reviewers and judged based on originality, contribution to the field, technical and presentation quality, and relevance to the workshop. Short papers are meant for timely discussion and feedback at the workshop.

**** ACCEPTED PAPERS ****
All accepted papers will be published by Springer in "Communications in Computer and Information Science (CCIS). Authors of all accepted papers must sign a Springer copyright release form. Papers are accepted with the understanding that at least one author will register for the conference to present the paper. All published papers will be indexed appropriately in all major indexes.
