Call For Papers

Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) are a revolutionized form of digital assets. Digital assets are anything that are digitally unique items or objects such as digital arts, videos, in-game items, music, documents, and signatures. The public and media's attention to the NFTs has been exploding and the NFT marketplace has been expanding in both volume and value tremendously. Blockchain network provides an underlying technology to secure only one official ownership at a time and trading interface to prevent illegal copying and downloads through smart contracts on blockchain networks such as Ethereum. Any assets either digital or physical, theoretically, can be digitized in such a way not to be replicated as a proof of the uniqueness and for protection of the ownership. NFT technology ultimately provides a solution to the issues of internet of assets with respect to illegal copying and distribution of items or objects violating required security and privacy protocols. From the systems perspective, the standards for NFT such as ERC-721 and ERC-1155 have been developed and exercised in the market such that NFT for digital items and objects are minted through smart contracts in a unique way in terms of ownership, copyright, reproduction right and ownership transfer, to mention a few. Minting an NFT is conforming to the token standards ERC-721 and/or ERC-1155 interfacing through smart contracts that prove ownership transferring. As the NFT market is expanding, NFT technology is expected to be more extensively employed to prove the scarcity of creating an NFT, the transparency of trading an NFT, and the uniqueness of the ownership of an NFT. Also, NFT can be exercised to ensure ownerships of full or some sectors of the digitized and secure documents such as Intellectual Property, Patent, and License.

The workshop welcomes original research, related idea, and innovative solutions and focus on either fundamental methodological studies or use cases and application demonstrations. Authors are invited to submit original research contributions that fall into or are related topic areas listed below:

-Modeling and assurance of performance of NFT-based systems
-Ensurance of ownership in NFT systems
-Security and privacy in NFT systems
-Tracking and assurance of digital assets’ copyright and reproduction right in NFT systems
-NFT Internet Frameworks
-Intellectual Property (IP) in NFT systems
-NFT-based Patent and License
