In conjunction with 16th international Conference on Parallel Processing
and Applied Mathematics Poznań, Poland, August 30 – September 2, 2026 Introduction: ============= Matrix algorithms belong to fundamental methods in computational linear algebra with a strong impact on solving practical problems. They are most frequently used in various HPC applications. This Special Session is particularly devoted to efficient algorithms for parallel matrix factorizations like SVD/EVD, QR, LU, and NMF from the perspective of their design, convergence, and accuracy. Another topic in focus are matrix computations related to linear solvers, both direct and iterative. Reports on the implementation results and experience are welcome, particularly for HPC platforms. Also, approaches for new parallel computing paradigms, e.g., quantum computing, would fit within the scope of the Session. Session organizer: ================== Marian Vajtersic University of Salzburg, Austria marian@cs.sbg.ac.at Paper submission: ================= High-quality original papers are invited to the Special Session. Papers will be refereed and accepted based on their scientific merit and relevance to the Special Session topics. Accepted and presented papers will be included in the proceedings of PPAM 2026 and will be published after the conference by Springer-Verlag in the LNCS series. Papers have not to exceed 15 pages (LNCS style). Authors should submit papers (as PDF files) through the PPAM 2026 site (track: Special Session on Approaches for Parallel Matrix Computations). In case of any problems, please contact the Special Session organizer. Dates: ====== Submission of Papers: April 24, 2026 2024 Notification of Acceptance: May 31, 2026 2024 Camera-Ready Papers: Nov. 2, 2026 |
