Dr. Xiaoyu Yang, University of Reading, UK Dr. Lu Liu, University of Derby, UK Call for Chapters: Proposals Submission Deadline: September 20, 2011 Full Chapters Due: January 10, 2012 Introduction As emerging technologies, Clouds and Service-Oriented Architectures (SOAs) attract attention worldwide, ranging from casual Internet users to IT giants (e.g. Microsoft and Google). At the same time, the innovations of Clouds and SOAs also offer many interesting avenues of research for scientific communities. Recent advances in Cloud and SOAs, including computational power, storage, and networking, and infrastructure innovations, are providing exciting opportunities to make significant progress in understanding and solving complex real-world challenges. Such challenges typically require a system-level approach that models a complex system at different levels of abstraction, helps to develop sound architectures for addressing separate system requirements and concerns, and integrates diverse sources of knowledge on the system’s components and their interactions. Objective of the Book This book will investigate the use of service-oriented computing technologies to address supporting infrastructure of the Cloud, including new challenges in modelling and simulation of novel Clouds and SOAs. The overall objective of this book is to present readers with methodologies, tools, technologies, and case studies of service-oriented computing in Cloud computing. Target of Audience Expected readers includes researchers, engineers and IT professionals who work in the fields of Cloud computing, distributed computing, cluster computing, Grid computing and high performance computing. The book could also be employed as the reference book for postgraduate students who study computer science. Recommended topics include, but are not limited to, the following: • Cloud computing and SOA overview • Security and Privacy in Cloud computing • Cloud definition and SPI model • Cloud elasticity: on-demand resource provisioning • Service level agreement in service-oriented architecture • QoS-oriented service computing • Service-oriented architecture in Cloud computing • Service composition and orchestration • Standards and specifications for service-oriented computing • Open Federated Cloud computing • Cloud storage • Cloud computing in industry and scientific research • Recent research advances in Cloud computing • SOA in Hybrid Cloud Submission Procedure Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before September 10, 2011, a 2-3 page chapter proposal clearly explaining the mission and concerns of his or her proposed chapter. Authors of accepted proposals will be notified by October 10, 2011 about the status of their proposals and sent chapter guidelines. Full chapters are expected to be submitted by January 10, 2012. All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a double-blind review basis. Contributors may also be requested to serve as reviewers for this project. Publisher This book is scheduled to be published by IGI Global (formerly Idea Group Inc.), publisher of the “Information Science Reference” (formerly Idea Group Reference), “Medical Information Science Reference,” “Business Science Reference,” and “Engineering Science Reference” imprints.
