Call For Papers | |||||||||||||||||
Dear Colleagues,
We are happy to announce that the next edition of EASE (Empirical Assessment and Evaluation in Software Engineering) will take place June 13-15 in Gothenburg, Sweden in a hybrid format. The conference will be hosted by Chalmers & The University of Gothenburg. To reduce bias in reviews, EASE conference will use double-blind review process. Submissions should be made via easychair: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=ease2022 Call for Papers The EASE full research papers track seeks submissions describing unpublished and original research results. We solicit submissions in the following areas (and similar ones): Assessing the benefits / costs associated with using chosen development technologies Cross- and multi-disciplinary methods and studies Case studies, action-research, and field studies, including multilevel research designs Design science studies Development and evaluation of empirical prediction systems or software estimation models Empirical studies using qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods Empirically-based decision making Evaluation and comparison of techniques and models Experiments and quasi-experiments Survey research Systematic literature reviews Meta-analysis, qualitative and quantitative synthesis of studies Modeling, measuring, and assessing product and/or process quality Replication of empirical studies and families of studies Software engineering analytics Simulation-based studies in software engineering Software project management and knowledge management Software technology transfer to the industry Types of submissions: Full Papers: - Full papers submission, abstract: January 24th, 2022(abstract) - Full papers (up to 10 pages in ACM double-column format) submission: January 31st, 2022 - Full papers notification: March 14th, 2022 - Full papers camera-ready: April 24th, 2022 Short Papers and artifacts: - Short papers and artifacts (4-6 pages), submission: March 21st, 2022 - Short papers and artifacts notification: April 25th, 2022 - Short papers and artifacts camera-ready: April 30th, 2022 Vision Papers and Emerging results: - Vision papers and emerging results (4-6 pages) submission: March 21st, 2022 - Vision papers and emerging results notification: May 2nd, 2022 - Vision papers and emerging results camera-ready: May 9th, 2022 Industrial Experience Report Submission - Industry experience reports (max 2 pages) submission: April 4th, 2022 - Industry experience reports notification: May 2nd, 2022 - Industry experience reports camera-ready: May 9th, 2022 Please submit your papers via: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=ease2022 Submission Details Submitted papers must be written in English, contain original unpublished work, and conform to the ACM Proceedings Format (https://www.acm.org/publications/proceedings-template). The conference enforces the ACM Policy and Procedures on Plagiarism (https://www.acm.org/publications/policies/plagiarism-overview). Call for Workshop and Tutorial Proposals Along with presentations, we encourage discussion sessions to promote interaction. We invite proposals that are aligned with the conference topics. The workshops and tutorials can be half-day or full-day and will take place on June 13, 2022. The workshop organizers should: compose a program committee with members from different institutions and regions; provide a website; have a CFP and publicize it on appropriate lists and within social networks; collect papers through EasyChair; assign them to the reviewers, and proceed to author’s notifications. The organizers should also contact the Workshop Chairs to pose any questions and answer their requests. Tutorial organizers should plan their tutorial, including timing, intended audience, and interactive elements. Important dates: -Workshop proposal submission: December 1st, 2021 -Workshop proposal notification: December 8th, 2021 -Workshop website published: December 15th, 2021 -Workshop paper submission: Jan 10th, 2022 -Workshop paper notification: Feb 7th, 2022 -Workshop paper camera-ready copy: Feb 21st, 2022 - Tutorial proposal submission: March 28th, 2022 - Tutorial proposal notification: April 10th, 2022 Workshop and tutorial proposals must be submitted via EasyChair (https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=ease2022) in PDF format following the paper format of the main conference and no longer than the maximum page number of the main conference papers. The workshop and tutorial proposals must include: title; short bios of the organizers; contact information of the organizers; motivation and objectives; list of topics; the format of the workshop/tutorial; equipment and services needed; and the target audience. For workshops, also provide information of a previous edition of the workshop; type (e.g., short or full) and size of the papers; the evaluation process that will be applied; a preliminary list of PC members with names and affiliation. For tutorials, describe the agenda of the tutorial and the format (e.g., lecture, interactive elements). The workshop and tutorial proposals will be evaluated by the Workshop Chairs considering the relevance to the conference, the importance of the workshop topics, and the experience of the organizers. Workshop/tutorial participants and organizers must register for the workshop/tutorial. The organization may cancel or suggest merges for workshops or tutorials without sufficient submissions or registrations. For workshops, accepted papers will be published in the ACM proceedings. Accepted tutorials have the option of submitting a two-page tutorial summary for the proceedings. Call for Doctoral Symposium Papers The goal of the symposium is to provide a helpful and stimulating forum for Ph.D. students to present and discuss their research proposals and the early results of their research. Experienced members of the empirical software engineering community will serve as symposium advisers to provide constructive and detailed feedback on the submitted papers. Depending on the number (and the topics) of submissions, we would like to involve the student participants in the peer-review process of the submissions in their areas of interest to foster their reviewing skills and expand their peer networks. Participants must be current doctoral students, preferably at a mid-point in their dissertation work (though other doctoral students are also welcome). The submitted research proposal should be single-authored, limited to 6 pages, include the advisor’s name, student’s email address, and address the below headings: - Title and abstract (up to 250 words) - Motivation, rationale, and contributions of the dissertation research - Key Research Questions/Challenges questions to be addressed - Work Plan explaining how the challenges would be addressed: - Research approach, empirical study design and arrangements - Definition of most important metrics (e.g. following the GQM approach) - Data analysis methods and techniques - Validity threats and their control - Summary of the current status of the research (including a very brief outline of the early results) and planned next steps - Relevant prior work Important dates for doctoral symposium: - Doctoral symposium papers submission: April 4th, 2022 - Notification: May 2nd, 2022 - Camera-ready: May 9th, 2022 Depending on the reviews, the submissions will be accepted either as short papers published in the conference proceedings or as posters to be presented during the conference. Please submit your papers using: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=ease2022 (the same formatting rules apply as for the main conference proceedings). |
