Call For Papers

Dear To Whom This May Concern,
We invite you to apply and participate in the International Scientific Symposium on "Challenges of Pilgrimage and Religious Tourism in the Post-Pandemic World", which will be held 5-7 November 2021 in Medjugorje, Bosnia and Herzegovina, organised by Herzegovina University.

The thematic sub-units of the Symposium are:
1. The phenomenon of Medjugorje as a destination of pilgrimage (40th anniversary)
2. The development of pilgrimage organisations and religious tourism at the turn of the 20th and 21st
centuries
3. The pilgrimage experience during a pandemic
4. Manifestations of religious tourism and pilgrimage in different religious traditions

We are pleased to announce the following guest speakers who will enhance the Symposium with their rich academic and professional experience:
Dr. Vitor Ambrósio, Estoril Higher Institute for Tourism and Hotel Studies, Portugal (Researcher in Religious Tourism and Pilgrimages)
Dr. Danijel Pavlović, Singidunum University, Belgrade, Serbia
International Journal of Religious Tourism and Pilgrimage (editorial member)
Dr. Patricia Zanketić, Kršan Municipality, Croatia (Management of Pilgrimages and Religious Events (co-author of the book)

The conference will be held in the official languages of Croatian and English. However, other official languages in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegrin language are welcomed. All accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings, and those that pass the double-blind review will be published in the scientific journal of Herzegovina University 'Putokazi'.
