Virtual Trash Talkin' 2021
Call for Papers Open to All Academic Disciplines March 12-13, 2021 Trash Talkin' is an interdisciplinary conference for undergraduate and graduate students focusing on popular culture and creative writing that is hosted by the English Students' Association of the University of Regina. We will consider scholarly papers, creative writing, visual art, and film from students of all disciplines, from any theoretical or methodological perspective, on any aspect of popular culture! This year, Trash Talkin' is going to look a little bit different! We are welcoming all to come and participate virtually, through Zoom. As well, this year, there is no set theme. We are all simply trying to do our best during this time. We invite all interested students to submit the paper that they are most proud of, on whatever topic they choose. If you are interested in writing a new paper to submit, you are more than welcome! We understand that students are all stressed and overwhelmed with this past year of COVID-19 changes, so we encourage as much flexibility and understanding as possible. Please submit your papers to esaregina@gmail.com before February 5th, 2021. Open internationally. If you are working on something new, feel free to submit an abstract while you continue to work on the final submission. Submissions should not be longer than 20 minutes (approx. 8-10 pages double-spaced). All papers, panels, and presentations will be refereed. Formal audio-visual presentations must include a written paper. Film submissions must include a complete copy of the film to be presented. |
