CALL FOR PAPERS
HAWAI’I INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SYSTEM SCIENCES HICSS’47 JANUARY 6-9, 2014 HILTON WAIKOLOA, BIG ISLAND MINITRACK IN TEXT ANALYTICS This minitrack is focused on systems and tools that enable people to engage in meaningful ways with the information encapsulated in massive textual datasets. The papers and the discussions will centre on the extraction and visualization of concepts and relationships, real-time interaction with text datasets including novel visualization and interaction techniques for users. This minitrack complements the Decision Support and Operational Management Analytics and the Social Media and Data Analytics Minitracks in the Digital and Social Media Track. PAPERS ARE INVITED, BUT NOT LIMITED, TO THE FOLLOWING AREAS: - Extraction and visualization of concepts, names, and relations from large, noisy text corpora - Knowledge sources, such as Wikipedia, lexicons, thesauri, and Google n-grams, applied to text mining tasks, including, but not limited to, semantic similarity, named entity extraction, sentiment classification. - Real-time visualization of and interaction with text corpora - Personal and corporate text information management - New models and sense-making experiences using information retrieval, lexical analysis, and other text mining techniques - Evaluation metrics for measuring usability of text analytics systems - Applications in a wide range of government, research, and business data functions - High performance computing applied to text analytics http://www.hicss.hawaii.edu Dates: June 15: full papers due Aug 15: notification of decision Sep 15: final papers ude Minitrack Leaders : Evangelos Milios, Dalhousie University, eem@cs.dal.ca and Carolyn Watters, Dalhousie University, Carolyn.watters@dal.ca |
