Sharing knowledge and research could not be more significant during these challenging times in 2020. The 16th annual International Conference on Knowledge Management (ICKM2020) will provide an ideal platform for researchers and practitioners from all over the world to discuss and exchange ideas. Sharing tools and knowledge that leads to discoveries about global business and healthcare is the main goal of the 2020 conference. The first ICKM conference was held in Singapore in 2004; 15 subsequent conferences have been held in Charlotte, NC; Greenwich, London; Vienna, Austria; Columbus, Ohio; Hong Kong; Pittsburgh, PA; Johannesburg; Montreal; Antalya, Turkey; Osaka, Japan; Dallas, TX; Vancouver; and Santa Catarina, Brazil.
We are glad to announce this year's keynote speakers. Dr. Chuck Friedman, Department Chair of Learning Health Sciences and Josiah Macy Jr. Professor of Medical Education, University of Michigan Medical School. Professor Friedman will be discussing “knowledge commons” and efforts in Mobilizing Computable Biomedical Knowledge (MCBK) to build repositories of data, programs, and algorithms. The second keynote speaker is Dr. W Ed Hammond, Director, Duke Center for Health Informatics and Applied Informatics Research and a professor in the Department of Community and Family Medicine, School of Medicine, Duke University. He will be discussing the use of analytics to connect individuals, communities, and populations. ICKM 2020 will be online and broadcast from Durham, NC, “the City of Medicine,” as hosted by the Knowledge and Information Professional Association. The conference theme is “Knowledge Commons” and the institutional analysis of data and the development of knowledge.
