INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON ACADEMIC INTEGRITY:
STRENGTHENING ACADEMIC INTEGRITY – NEW INSIGHTS November 16-17, 2020 Podgorica, Montenegro Over the last years, the question of academic integrity became one of the most important issues in higher education, as various forms of academic misconduct and non-ethical behavior become more visible and more frequent. We are nowadays witnessing the types of academic misconduct which are not easily understandable from both rational and ethical points of view, such as researchers publishing false data, forging results, plagiarizing or self-plagiarizing, etc. Similarly, number of students are cheating during the exams and showing wide array of non-ethical behaviors. These and many other aspects of the academic “non-integrity” (in science and in education) are of particular interest for the international scientific community, which acknowledged this as the increasingly relevant and internationally recognized problem. Therefore, the main objective of the conference is to enhance scientific knowledge on the academic integrity through the interdisciplinary research-based approach which should facilitate emergence of innovative strategies for spreading the culture of academic integrity, promoting ethical behavior and preventing plagiarism and other types on non-ethical practices in academic environment and beyond. Prof. dr Michelle Bergadaà, International Institute for Research and Action on Academic Fraud and Plagiarism – University of Geneva, Swiss Dr Sonja Bjelobaba, Senior Lecturer, Uppsala University, Sweden Prof. dr Tomáš Foltýnek, Mendel University in Brno, Czech Republic. TOPICS Relevant topics include, but are not limited to: Strategies for promoting academic integrity in Higher Education The role of academic integrity policies Students’ and professors’ perception of academic dishonesty in Higher Education Motives/determinants of plagiarism and cheating behaviour The role of technology in preventing / facilitating plagiarism The link between moral /personal values and academic integrity Identifying contextual characteristics that influence academic dishonesty Contract Cheating Academic integrity in the online learning environment (in the in era of coronavirus) Teaching/learning academic integrity issues, e.g. ethics, moral reasoning, academic writing etc. Innovative strategies for preventing academic misconduct SUBMISSION GUIDELINES and PUBLICATION OPPORTUNITIES We encourage authors to submit extended abstracts (not exceeding 500 words; excluding title, authors’ information and references). The first page of the extended abstract should include the title and authors’ affiliations. Extended abstracts should include the following: Keywords Theoretical framework Purpose and aim of the study Method Results and Discussion Theoretical and practical implications The style of references, abbreviations and symbols should correspond to APA style. The extended abstract should be sent to sai-conference@ucg.ac.me Papers accepted for the conference will be published in the conference proceedings. The selected conference papers will be published in special issues of the Business Systems Research Journal (Scopus & Web of Science: Emerging Sources Citation Index -ESCI) The selected papers from the conference will be considered for publication in the International Journal for Educational Integrity (Scopus & Web of Science: Emerging Sources Citation Index -ESCI). CONFERENCE VENUE Univerzitetski sportsko-kulturni centar L2, Studentska, Podgorica Montenegro The University of Montenegro is the largest and the only comprehensive, integrated and public university in Montenegro. The university was founded in 1974 and it consist of 19 faculties and 3 institutes. UoM extends to three Montenegrin regions. Apart from Podgorica, where the highest number of faculties and the largest campus are situated, teaching takes place in Nikšić, Kotor, Cetinje, Bar, Igalo, Berane and Bijelo Polje. The University has received the certificate in the field of the academic integrity by the IRFPA - International Institute for Research and Action on Academic and Plagiarism.
