Call For Papers | |||||||||||||||
Building off the momentum gathered during the ten previous meetings, this year’s vapor intrusion specialty conference will bring together internationally-recognized scientists, engineers, regulators, and attorneys to share research and solutions on the latest developments in the investigation and mitigation of the vapor intrusion (VI) pathway, including indicators and tracers, toxicology, system performance optimization, risk assessment, sampling and laboratory analysis, real estate transactions, and risk communication.
The conference will also address soil vapor and air quality issues (indoor, outdoor) associated with per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), 1,4-dioxane, methane, TCE short-term toxicity, and other emerging contaminants (EC) and the effect that these ECs are having on property transactions. Abstracts are being sought which demonstrate innovative scientific approaches to the investigation and mitigation of the vapor intrusion pathway and/or air quality, product safety, or merger and acquisition issues associated with emerging contaminants. The following topics are candidates for platform presentations and panel discussions: • Vapor Intrusion Investigation — Assessment Methods, Predictive Modeling, Toxicology and Risk Assessment, Laboratory Issues, Petroleum Hydrocarbons and Chlorinated Solvents, Cost Analyses & Reduction, Case Studies • Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) and Other Emerging Contaminants — Regulatory Developments, Air Emission Studies, Ambient Air Assessments, Potential VI Concerns, Inhalation Toxicology, Product Safety • Regulatory Considerations, Mitigation Strategies, Risk Management and Legal/Insurance Issues — Mitigation and Remediation Strategies, Operation, Maintenance and Monitoring, State Guidance, HVAC Abstracts of 250 words or less must be submitted by May 26, 2023 to vapor@awma.org.
