MidDep 2014: First International Workshop on Middleware for Dependable Systems and Networks
In conjunction with ACM/IFIP/USENIX International Middleware Conference 2014, Bordeaux, France, December 8-12 2014 http://sites.google.com/site/middepworkshop This last decade has witnessed the emergence of a variety of new computing paradigms: cloud computing, social computing, crowd computing, many-core computing etc. These paradigms may very likely call for revisiting the dependability principles that were employed in more classical client/server and peer-to-peer architectures when designing middleware solutions for these systems. This workshop aims at attracting researchers and practitioners interested in the design of new middleware solutions for building dependable distributed systems and networks with a special interest in applications related to new computing paradigms. We welcome original, unpublished research papers as well as practical experience reports related to topics of the workshop. These topics include, but are not limited to, the following: - Middleware for dependable collaborative and Peer-to-Peer systems. - Middleware for dependable cloud systems. - Middleware for dependable mobile, ubiquitous and pervasive systems. - Middleware for dependable participatory sensing systems. - Middleware for dependable multi-core computing. - Middleware for interoperability and dependable systems-of-systems. - Middleware for dependable social computing. - Experimental evaluation of dependability aspects of middleware systems. - Analytical models of dependability aspects of middleware systems. ————————————————— Program co-chairs ————————————————— Sonia Ben Mokhtar, LIRIS CNRS, France Etienne Rivière, University of Neuchâtel, Switzerland ——————————————————————————— Technical Program Committee ——————————————————————————— Gordon Blair, Lancaster University, United Kingdom Vivien Quema, Grenoble INP-ENSIMAG, France Leonardo Querzoni, University of Rome La Sapienza, Italy Davide Frey, Inria Rennes, France Boris Koldehofe, University of Stuttgart, Germany Fernando Pedone, University of Lugano, Switzerland Peter Pietzuch, Imperial College London, United Kingdom Luis Rodrigues, INESC, Lisbon, Portugal Marco Serafini, QCRI, Qatar Marco Vukolic, Eurecom, Nice, France Hailong Sun, Beihang University, P.R.
