Call For Papers | |||||||||||||||
This session focuses on biometrics as an application of machine learning. With the spread of biometric systems, the target data of biometrics is becoming huge and complex, which leads that statistical approaches, as typified machine learning, are required for processing the biometrics data. Additionally, some simple applications of machine learning such as pattern recognition and classification are basic notions in biometrics, and therefore advanced technologies in machine learning are expected to be directly applicable into biometrics. Topics of interest include but are not limited to:
* Advanced machine learning technologies - Neural network - Support vector machine and kernel substitution - Probabilistic model - Sampling * Applications with biometric data - Personal identification and privacy protection - Modeling of aging effects - Liveness detection - Illness detection Paper Submission The session seeks for original, unpublished, and high-quality research papers. The authors are invited to submit their contributions formatted as Springer LNCS single column with 8-10 pages for long papers and 5-7 pages for short papers. Submitted papers will be refereed by at least two reviewers for quality, correctness, originality, and relevance. All accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings and will be included in the Springer's CCIS (Communications in Computer and Information Science) series. The authors are asked to follow the (AMLTA12) submission system with an email notification to the session organizer (aawad@ieee.org) including the paper ID and the paper title. Important Dates * Deadline for paper submission: July 15, 2012 * Notification of acceptance/rejection: August 30, 2012 * Deadline for camera-ready submission: September 30, 2012 * Registration deadline: September 30, 2012 * Conference date: December 8-10, 2012 Organizers Ali Ismail Awad, Al Azhar University, Egypt Kensuke Baba, Kyushu University, Japan |
