Call For Papers

IEEE International Workshop on Computer Aided Modeling and Design of Communication Links and Networks (CAMAD) -- 11-13 September 2019 Limassol, Cyprus

CALL FOR PAPERS
Special Session (SS03) on “Blockchain technologies”

------------------
Scope
------------------

Distributed Ledger Technologies (DLTs) including Blockchains, enable untrusted transacting entities to contribute into sharing and maintaining a common ledger of a digital history eliminating the need for intermediaries. The design, development, and deployment of Blockchain systems, as well as their applications, should take into consideration new requirements and challenges, thereby raising new research challenges. This Special Session aims to bring together academia and industry for discussing the latest advances on the following themes:
• Design and engineering improvements to the protocols and architectures underpinning DLTs/Blockchains;
• The convergence of DLTs/Blockchains with other emerging technologies (e.g., Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things);
• Insights of the technical, business, and societal implications of DLTs/Blockchains based on deployed applications and case studies.

------------------
Topics of Interest
------------------

In this Special Session, we welcome submissions of papers presenting original work. Submissions must not overlap with works that have been published or that are simultaneously considered for publication elsewhere. Specifically, we encourage researchers and industry experts to submit original contributions in the following major areas (indicative list, other related topics will also be considered):
• Attacks and security considerations on DLTs/Blockchains
• Novel consensus and fault tolerance mechanisms
• Game theory in DLTs/Blockchains
• Formal verification of protocols and smart contracts
• Interoperability of DLTs/Blockchains
• Scalability of DLTs/Blockchains
• Public, private and hybrid DLTs/Blockchains (permission-less vs. permissioned)
• Convergence of DLTs/Blockchains with Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things and other emerging technologies
• Use cases with DLTs/Blockchains for applications/sectors such e-government and public administration, e-health, energy, logistics, supply-chain, etc.
• Industry 4.0 transformation and DLTs/Blockchains
• Decentralized Autonomous Organizations

------------------
Important Dates
------------------

Paper submission deadline: June 20, 2019 (extended)
Paper acceptance notification: July 05, 2019
Camera-ready paper: July 31, 2019
Conference date: September 11-13, 2019

------------------
Paper Submissions Guidelines
------------------

Prospective authors are invited to submit a full paper of not more than six (6) IEEE style pages including results, figures and references. Papers should be submitted via EDAS. Papers submitted to the conference, must describe unpublished work that has not been submitted for publication elsewhere. All submitted papers will be reviewed by at least three TPC members, while submission implies that at least one of the authors will register and present the paper at the conference. Electronic submission will be carried out through the EDAS web site at the following link: https://www.edas.info/newPaper.php?c=26104&track=96668
All accepted papers will be included in the conference proceedings and IEEE digital library (http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/).
