The 2012 International conference on Unmanned Aircraft Systems, ICUAS’12, is technically co-sponsored by the IEEE Control Systems Society. ICUAS’12 will be held in Philadelphia, PA, on June 12-15. June 12 will be a Workshop/Tutorial day, followed by a three day technical Conference. ICUAS’12 will host representatives from academia, industry, federal/state agencies, government, the private sector, users, practitioners and engineers who wish to be affiliated with and contribute technically to this highly demanding and rapidly evolving and expanding field.

Micro- and Mini- UAS Navigation Networked Swarms Payloads Path Planning Regulations Reliability of UAS Risk Analysis See-and-avoid Systems Security Sensor Fusion Simulation Smart Sensors Standardization Swarms Technology Challenges Training UAS Applications UAS Communications UAS Testbeds ______________________________________________________________________ IMPORTANT DATES February 15, 2012: Full Papers/Tutorial Proposal Due April 15, 2012: Acceptance/Rejection Notification May 15, 2012: Final, Camera Ready Papers Due May 15, 2012: Early Registration ______________________________________________________________________ PAPERS Papers must be submitted electronically through css.paperplaza.net. The paper format must follow IEEE paper submission rules, two-column format using 12 point fonts, Times New Roman. The maximum number of pages per paper is 15. Illustrations and references are included in the page count. Submitted papers will undergo a peer review process coordinated by the Program Chairs, the Program Advisory Committee Members and qualified reviewers. Authors are encouraged to accompany their presentations with multimedia material (i.e. videos), which will be included in the Conference Digital Proceedings. Authors of accepted papers will be invited to submit significantly different/enhanced versions of the ICUAS’12 papers to the Journal of Intelligent and Robotic Systems (JINT), which will be published in a JINT Special Volume and in a Special Volume Book as part of the Springer series on Intelligent Systems, Control and Automation (ISCA). ______________________________________________________________________ GENERAL CHAIRS Randal Beard, Bringham Young University, beard@ee.byu.edu Kimon P.
