Special Session Call for Papers
SMC2011 Special Session on Computational Collective Intelligence co-located with IEEE SMC 2011 Anchorage, Alaska Oct. 9-12, 2011 Introduction/Call for Papers Computational Collective Intelligence is most often understood as an AI sub-field dealing with soft computing methods which enable making group decisions or processing knowledge among autonomous units acting in distributed environments. Web-based systems, social networks and multi-agent systems very often need these tools for working out consistent knowledge states, resolving conflicts and making decisions. The aim of this session is to provide an internationally respected forum for scientific research in the computer-based methods of collective intelligence and their applications in (but not limited to) such fields as semantic web, social networks and multi-agent systems Prospective authors are invited to submit original papers to the Special Session. Indicative Topics/Areas The coverage of this special session includes, but is not limited to, the following subjects • Group decision making • Consensus computing • Collective action coordination • Inconsistent knowledge processing • Ontology mapping and merging • Collaborative ontology • Ontology development in social networks • Semantic social networks • Collaborative tagging on Web 2.0 • Semantic and knowledge grids • Semantic annotation of web data resources • Group web services (service description, discovery, composition) • Automatic metadata generation • Semantic web inference schemes • Reasoning in the semantic web • Knowledge portals • Information discovery and retrieval in the semantic web • Advanced groupware and social networks • Models for social network emergence and growth • Advanced analysis for social networks dynamics • Social networks and semantic communication • Cooperative distributed problem solving • Task and resource allocation • Mechanism design, auctions, and game theory • Modeling other agents and self • Multiagent planning • Negotiation protocols • Multiagent learning • Conflict resolution • Performance, scalability, robustness, and dependability • P2P business Important Dates April 1, 2011: Deadline for submission of full-length papers to special sessions. June 1, 2011: Acceptance/Rejection Notification. July 5, 2011: Final camera-ready papers due in electronic form. Submission Manuscripts for a Special Session should NOT be submitted in duplication to any other regular or special sessions and should be submitted to SMC11 main conference online submission system on SMC11 conference website. All submitted papers of Special Sessions have to undergo the same review process (three completed reviews per paper). The technical reviewers for each Special Session paper will be members of the SMC 2011 Program Committee and qualified peer-reviewers to be nominated by the Special Session organizers. Selected papers will be invited to be published in Transactions on Computational Collective Intelligence in extended versions |
