CONFERENCE THEME
The scientific and organizing committee of the 2020 UEH International Conference on Business and Finance welcome submissions in all areas of business, management, law and finance for presentation at the conference. The main topics of the conference include, but not limited to: Asset pricing Banking studies Behavioral finance Business and International Business Capital market integration Corporate finance, IPOs, SEOs, M&A Corporate governance Emerging markets finance Entrepreneurial finance Finance and sustainability Financial econometrics Financial engineering and derivatives Financial markets, institutions and money Financial modeling International Trade Marketing Management Business Administration International Business Leadership Economics and Law Business and Law Accounting Public governance Tourism Authors are invited to submit their abstracts, extended abstracts or complete papers (in English) in PDF formats via the conference website. Accepted Papers will be published online as soon as the review is done. PUBLICATION OPPORTUNITIES Submitted Papers could be selected for the Special Issue of the following journals. Szilagyi Peter G. Szilagyi is Associate Professor, Head of MS in Finance, and Head of FinTech Section at the CEU InnovationsLab startup incubator. Peter was Assistant Professor at Judge Business School, University of Cambridge, in 2007-14 and was Director of the MPhil in Finance. He earned his PhD from Tilburg and held a research fellowship at Oxford Saïd Business School. He has been an external consultant to the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank, and before entering academia worked for the BBC World Service. He held one of the first research grants awarded by the SWIFT Institute. Peter is Managing Editor of Elsevier's Journal of Multinational Financial Management, and Subject Editor of Emerging Markets Review and the Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions & Money. Professor Sung Y. Park Professor Sung Y. Park is an associate professor of the School of Economics at the Chung-Ang University. He was an assistant professor of Economics at WISE, Xiamen University and the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is interested in the fields of Econometric Theory and Applications, Financial Econometrics, Empirical Finance, and Energy Economics. He has published in a range of journals including Journal of Econometrics, Econometric Reviews, Journal of Empirical Finance, Journal of Economic Inequality, Economic Modelling, Oxford Bulletin of Economics and Statistics, International Journal of Forecasting, China Economic Review, Energy Economics, Journal of Futures Markets, International Review of Finance among many others. He teaches various courses in Economics and Econometrics, including econometric theory, applied econometrics, time series econometrics, machine learning with big data, and economic mathematics. He is currently the Editor of Journal of Economic Development. Associate Professor Michael Downing Rennes School of Business, France. Michael Dowling is Associate Professor of Finance in Rennes School of Business, France, where his main role is as the Director of the AI-driven Business research centre. This cross-disciplinary centre applies machine learning / deep learning techniques to the understanding of business phenomena, with a particular emphasis on textual data learning. In addition Michael is co-Editor-in-Chief of the Elsevier Journal of Behavioral and Experimental Finance (ABDC B-ranked), which publishes research that provides understanding of behavioural drivers of financial decision making. Michael obtained his PhD from Trinity College Dublin in Ireland. Doctor Peter Morgan Peter Morgan is Senior Consulting Economist and Vice Chair of Research at the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI), and has been with ADBI since 2008. He has 23 years experience in the financial sector in Asia, most recently serving in Hong Kong as Chief Asia Economist for HSBC, responsible for macroeconomic analysis and forecasting for Asia. Previously, he served as Chief Japan Economist for HSBC, and earlier held similar positions at Merrill Lynch, Barclays de Zoete Wedd and Jardine Fleming. Prior to entering the financial industry, he was a consultant for Meta Systems Inc in Cambridge, MA, in energy and environmental analysis, and at International Business Information KK in Tokyo, in financial sector consulting. He earned his MA and PhD degrees in economics from Yale University. His research interests are in macroeconomic policy and financial sector regulation, reform, financial development, financial inclusion, fintech, financial literacy and financial education. He has edited 14 book and has published numerous articles in refereed journals. In addition, he served as lead co-chair of the Think 20 Task Force on “The Future of Work and Education for the Digital Age” during Japan’s leadership of the T20 process as an input to Japan’s Presidency of the G20 in 2019. |
