Call For Papers

Scope -

Mobility is rapidly turning out to be a critical component of many next generation networking systems. Prominent among these include Mobile Vehicular Networks, Mobile Social Networks, Mobile Sensor Networks, Next Generation Cellular Networks, Mobile Clouds etc. While computing in the presence of mobility has been a well studied topic in the Networking arena of late, the emphasis has centered on only Mobile AdHoc Networks (MANETs).

Unfortunately, many assumptions made in traditional MANETs like mobility models, purpose/ scope of mobility, social aspects, network scale do not hold in many emerging mobile networks. Consequently, existing theories, architectures and protocols in traditional MANETs for issues like data delivery, data management, reliability, security, privacy etc. are not enough to be applied for emerging mobile networks, and need a ground-up redesign. Furthermore, a vast number of problems related to computing over wireless communications are emerging in networks like vehicular safety, fairness in content sharing, mobility centric threats and countermeasures, and performance of mobile cloud computing that are yet to be explored in detail.

The workshop aims to provide a forum for researchers, practitioners and students to disseminate and exchange original research ideas on important topics in a wide class of emerging mobile networks.

Topics of interest -

We are soliciting original and unpublished research papers, or on-going works in their advanced stages on a broad spectrum of topics in the following areas including (but not limited to):

- Mobility models for emerging mobile networks

- Cross Layer Optimizations

- Dependability and Reliability

- Security and Privacy

- Information Management

- Mobile Cloud Computing

- Next generation Cellular Networks

- Social aspects of Computing

- Intelligent transportation systems

- New Applications for mobile networking

- Simulation, Emulation and Testbeds for large-scale mobile networks

Paper Submission Guidelines -

Authors should prepare a Portable Document Format (PDF) version of their paper. The paper must be no longer than 5 pages, following the IEEE two-column format for conference proceedings. The font size must be no smaller than 10 points, and must fit properly on US "Letter"-sized paper (8.5 x 11 inches).

All the submissions should be made through EasyChair at http://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=cemns2010
