The SMPS Conference is a biennial gathering of experts exploring established and emerging approaches in soft probability and statistics. First held in Warsaw in 2002, it has become a recurring forum for exchanging ideas and discussing new trends that expand the traditions of probabilistic, statistical, and uncertainty modeling, with a focus on flexible and nuanced handling of incomplete or subjective information.
In 2026, the conference will take place in the baroque city of Lecce, located in the beautiful Salento region of southern Italy. Plenary Speakers Bernard De Baets (Ghent University, BE) Irene Gijbels (KU Leuven, BE) Beatriz Sinova Fernández (Oviedo University, ES) Invited Sessions Advances in Conformal Prediction (organizer: B. Liseo and N. Deliu) Bridging statistical modeling and AI in atmospheric sciences (organizer: Elisa Perrone) Clustering of complex data structures (organizer: M.B. Ferraro) Dependence in Bayesian non-parametric statistics (organizer: M. Catalano) Novel Approaches to Data Processing under Uncertainty and Vagueness (organizers: M. Holcapek, M. Daňková, P. Grzegorzewski) Robust Statistics (organizers: L.A. Garcia Escudero and A. Mayo iscar) Theoretical and applied aspects of imprecise probabilities (organizers: E. Miranda and R. Pérez-Fernández).
