Workshop Title:
Availability and Reliability in P2P Overlays (ARPO 2010) The ARPO Workshop is part of the 29th IEEE International Symposium on Reliable Distributed Systems (SRDS 2010) being held in November 1-3, 2010, IIT Delhi, DELHI, INDIA. CFP: The overlay network architecture (aka P2P networks), is an aggregation of resources from multiple infrastructure providers, enabling the co-existence of heterogeneous technologies as a part of the virtual network. Providing application level quality of service guarantees on such networks is a challenging area of research. The focus of this workshop is specifically on availability and reliability in such peer to peer overlay networks. Availability deals with total-failures i.e., the failure of links and nodes in the path to the destination. The problem of availability in an overlay network is handled by providing redundancy of routes. Reliability is characterized by partial-failures, which are manifested in the form of data loss due to lack of network capacity when data travels through this network from source to destination. The objective of this workshop is to discuss original and innovative ideas in the field of availability and reliability in P2P overlays. We invite authors interested in the areas of P2P networks, Overlays, and quality of service guarantees to submit paper(s) to this workshop. Below is a list of relevant topics (not exhaustive): (1) Routing algorithms in P2P (2) Application level quality of service on Overlays (3) Heuristics, algorithms for guaranteeing availability (4) Techniques for provisioning reliability in overlay networks (5) Applications in the event based / publish-subscribe / service oriented domain (6) Resiliency in overlays (7) QoS aware routing algorithms (8) Fault tolerance - Network failures / Application level failures in overlay networks Paper Submission: Authors should prepare a Portable Document Format (PDF) version of their paper to be submitted to the ARPO workshop. The paper must be no longer than 5 pages, following the IEEE two-column format for conference proceedings. The font size must be no smaller than 10 points, and must fit properly on US "Letter"-sized paper (8.5 x 11 inches). All the submissions should be made through EasyChair. The ARPO Workshop is using the EasyChair Conference System to manage the paper submissions process. In order to submit your paper, you must first create an EasyChair account if you do not have one already, using [https://www.easychair.org/login.cgi]. The EasyChair system will then e-mail you your password. Then you can login to EasyChair using the password you have received by email. The submissions will be reviewed by at least three members of the Program Committee. In addition to selected contributions also a number of invited presentations might be considered. If accepted, the paper will be included in a Workshop Proceedings distributed at the Symposium. Presentations of accepted papers will be scheduled in slots of approximately 20 minutes each, including Q&A. The submission page of the ARPO Workshop in EasyChair is: [EasyChair-SubmissionPage] * Paper submission: July 20th, 2010 * Author notification: Aug 10th, 2010 * Camera Ready: Aug 31st, 2010 * Workshops Date: Oct. 31, 2010 All accepted Workshop papers will be included in a Workshop Proceedings distributed at the Symposium. The papers will also be made available online from the Workshop and main conference web pages.
