Call For Papers

Those interested in presenting a paper at the 1st International Conference of ASETEL
should email a proposal with name, a brief CV (stating degree, professional or academic position,areas of research and, where appropriate, mention of most relevant publications), the title of the proposed paper and a 300-350 word abstract to the Secretary of the Local Organizing Committee, Dr. María Ángeles Grande Rosales: grande@ugr.es.
Submissions must be made before June 30th (early bird registration period) or before
September 1st (final deadline) of 2010. Contributors whose papers are accepted will be notified by email by October 1, 2010. It is not necessary to be a member of ASETEL to present a paper.
Proposals must be relevant to one of the five conference themes and preferably to the Literary Theory and Comparative Literature approaches. The Organizing Committee, after completion of the selection process by the Conference Advisory Committee, will communicate decisions regarding acceptance by e-mail. Presentations should be kept to a maximum of 20 minutes.
The Organizing Committee plans to publish the proceedings of the conference in electronic format, with ISBN, and is performing the necessary steps to publish these as a book.
Papers presented at the ASETEL Conference that will appear in this volume should conform to the publication rules set out in the Appendix (see end of this document). Papers should be sent by email to grande@ugr.es, indicating in the subject of the email the contributor’s last name followed by the first name - only. The deadline for submissions is January 10, 2011. The Organizing Committee of the 1st Conference of ASETEL will notify all contributors upon receiving their texts.

LANGUAGES OF THE CONFERENCE
Proposals may be submitted in Spanish or English, the official languages of the
conference. Other languages commonly used by the international academic community may also be considered in exceptional cases and each case would need to be studied individually by the Conference Organization.

To register for the conference, complete the attached registration form. Registration
deadlines and fees are outlined below. Send registration form along with a copy of proof of payment (photocopy or scan of bank receipt) to the Executive Conference Secretary: email azucena@ugr.es or send by post to:

* ASETEL Members (presenting a paper): 50€
* Non-members (presenting / not presenting a paper): 100€
* Students: 50€
ASETEL members who register as participants in the Conference without presenting a
paper shall be exempt from payment. New members can formalize their enrollment in ASETEL--
under the conditions established by the ASETEL Constitution (see the Association website:
www.asetel.org)-- in the second form attached to this brochure and send it to the Secretary of the
Spanish Association of Literary Theory, Dr. Maria Victoria Utrera: vutrera@us.es.

DIPLOMAS AND CERTIFICATES
Participants will receive a diploma certifying attendance at the conference (both with and without the presentation of a paper). Additionally, the University of Granada will recognize a number of non-major elective credits that are in the process of being approved and made public.

ACCOMMODATION
Conference participants are asked to make their own hotel reservations. Special rates
with participating hotels have been prearranged for the conference. Details will be provided shortly.
