Call For Papers

Purlieu's Premier Issue is coming early in the Fall of 2010. We are now accepting papers for the first edition, open to all students. Abstracts (300-700 Words) must be submitted electronically no later than June 7, 2010. First Volume to be Published September 7, 2010 with an interview about the state of the contemporary university with Dr. Gretchen Bataille.

Purlieu is a student publication, both print and electronic, committed to highlighting undergraduate and graduate work in all areas of Philosophy and philosophical perspectives from, but not limited to: Political Science, Ecology, Literature, Education, Communication Studies, Linguistics, Sociology, Anthropology, Gender & Sexual Studies, Urban Studies, and Psychology.

It is our hope, in this publication, to create a community for undergraduate and graduate students to write and think about their independent philosophical ideas. We welcome all submissions which offer original, creative essays about thinkers, people, and our world.
