===========================================
EMNLP 2010: Final Call for Papers =========================================== SIGDAT, the Association for Computational Linguistics' special interest group on linguistic data and corpus-based approaches to NLP, invites submissions to EMNLP 2010. The conference will be held on October 9-11, 2010, at the Frank Gehry-designed Stata Center at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA. We are interested in papers from academia, government, and industry on all areas of traditional interest to the SIGDAT community and aligned fields, including but not limited to: * Phonology and Morphology, Tagging and Chunking, Segmentation * Syntax and Parsing * Semantics * Discourse, Dialogue, and Pragmatics * Summarization and Generation * NLP-related Machine Learning: theory, methods and algorithms * Machine Translation * Information Retrieval and Question Answering * Information Extraction * Sentiment Analysis and Opinion Mining * Spoken Language Processing * Text Mining and Natural Language Processing Applications * Language Resources * Multilinguality * NLP for the Web =========================================== Important Dates =========================================== * Abstract submission deadline: Friday, June 18, 2010 * Paper submission deadline: Friday, June 25, 2010 * Author response period: July 20-25, 2010 * Acceptance notification: Tuesday, August 10, 2010 * Camera-ready copy due: Sunday, August 22, 2010 * Conference meeting: October 9-11, 2010 All deadlines refer to 11:59pm Samoa time (UTC/GMT -11 hours) =========================================== Submissions =========================================== Submissions should follow the two-column format of ACL proceedings. Each paper may consist of up to nine (9) pages of content and one (1) extra page for references. Submissions should describe original, unpublished work. Please use the official NAACL 2010 style files. We reserve the right to reject submissions that do not conform to these styles, including letter size and font size restrictions. As reviewing will be blind, the paper should not include the authors' names and affiliations. Furthermore, self-references that reveal the author's identity, e.g., "We previously showed (Smith, 1991) ...", should be avoided. Instead, use citations such as "Smith previously showed (Smith, 1991) ...". Papers that do not conform to these requirements will be rejected without review. Separate identification information is required, and will be part of the web submission process. Submission/reviewing will be electronic, managed by the START system. The only accepted format for submitted papers is Adobe PDF. Previous to submitting a paper you are required to submit an abstract (by June 18, 2010). To submit the abstract, please follow this link. You will receive a reference passcode that will allow you to update the submission with the full paper (by June 25, 2010). Use this link to do that. Abstracts and paper submissions must be uploaded onto the system by the submission deadlines. Papers submitted after that time will not be reviewed. Submissions presented at EMNLP should mainly contain new material that has not been presented at any other meeting with publicly available proceedings. Papers that have been or will be submitted to other meetings or publications must disclose this information at submission time. Please list all other meetings where the paper has been submitted at the end of the abstract field on the submission site. =========================================== Invited Speakers =========================================== * Kevin Knight Information Sciences Institute, University of Southern California * Andrew Ng Stanford University * Amit Singhal Google, Inc. =========================================== Program Chairs =========================================== * Hang Li Microsoft Research Asia * Lluís Màrquez Technical University of Catalonia =========================================== Area Chairs =========================================== * Eneko Agirre, University of the Basque Country * Kalina Bontcheva, University of Sheffield * Antal van den Bosch, Tilburg University * David Chiang, USC Information Sciences Institute * Jennifer Chu-Carroll, IBM Research * Evgeniy Gabrilovich, Yahoo!
