WMS 2010 - International Workshop on Mobile Security
In conjunction with MobiCASE 2010 October 28, 2010 - Biltmore Hotel & Suites, Santa Clara, CA, USA http://wnss.sv.cmu.edu/wms/ Workshop Overview: The Workshop on Mobile Security will bring together members of the research community and practitioners from industry to present novel results and approaches in the emerging area of mobile security, a topic at the intersection of wireless communications, mobile computing and computer security. Unlike mobile devices in the past, which were designed for the sole purpose of voice-based communication, today's phones are powerful devices that can communicate, compute, and sense. There are many emerging applications (e.g. mobile banking, mobile social networking, location navigation) associated with smartphones, mobile internet, and telecom infrastructures. Since mobile devices are always with us and they contain various sensitive data, the issues of security, privacy and trust become more and more important and challenging. Topics of Interest: The main topics for the workshop will focus on vulnerabilities, attacks and defense approaches on mobile devices and network infrastructures. We seek papers in, but not limited to, the following areas: * Vulnerabilities in telecommunication infrastructure * Smartphone security * Open phones and trust technologies * Mobile internet security * Mobile location/navigation security * Mobile banking/payment security * Privacy issues on mobile social networking * Mobile malware modeling * UICC evolutions and security impacts * Secure coding practices for mobile applications * Intrusion detection on mobile devices * Power-sensitive cryptography for mobile devices Paper Submission: Papers will be limited to 6 single-spaced, double-column, 8.5" x 11" pages with 10-point font. The Workshop on Mobile Security requires that all papers (both research and industry) describe novel, unpublished work, not concurrently under review. Submission details can be found on the workshop website above, and the important dates follow. Paper submission deadline: July 23, 2010 Acceptance notification: August 2, 2010 Camera-ready papers due: August 13, 2010 Workshop date: October 28, 2010 Workshop Co-Chairs: - Philippe Proust, Security labs, Gemalto - Patrick Tague, Carnegie Mellon University - Yafei Yang, Qualcomm Technical Program Committee: - Lujo Bauer, Carnegie Mellon University - Hao Chen, University of California – Davis - Songqing Chen, George Mason University - Yuecel Karabulut, SAP - Angelos Keromytis, Columbia University - Sridhar Machiraju, Google - Patrick Traynor, Georgia Institute of Technology - Zheng Yan, Nokia Research Center |
