CALL FOR PAPERS
Majlesi Journal of Energy Management (MJEM) Special Section on Flexible Future Energy Management Systems and Renewable Energy Resources Vol.3, No.2, Jun 2014. The process of deregulation has introduced several new interesting research topics in power system and energy management areas. One of the most fascinating issues among them is the integration of renewable energy resources (RES) in the future energy management systems (EMS). The optimal operation and planning of these resources offers the possibility of more flexibility, efficiency, reliability, sustainability and security of supply in future EMS. However, some technical, economical and regulatory issues cause difficulty to achieve these goals. These issues include different goals of entities in electricity market, intermittency of renewable energy resources, new challenges brought by smart grids and etc. This special issue is intended to bring together the most recent advances in operations research to solve the problems applied to different aspects of RES in flexible future energy management systems. The articles can either focus on providing new solution methods for the existing models, or developing new models to formulate emerging problems applied to energy management systems. Topics of interest of this Special Issue include, but are not limited to: • Cyber Security for Renewable Energy Systems • Optimal response to the markets by suppliers and consumers • RES’s grid Interconnection issues and International grid codes • Energy storage technologies and demand-side management capabilities • Discussion on operation, planning, market or policy issues related to adoption of RES • Models, algorithms and advanced optimization techniques for optimal integration of RES • Uncertainty modeling techniques and forecasting methods application for RES management • RES integration in Smart grids considering strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats • Objectives, constraints and optimal policies from system operator, private investors, retailers and end use consumers points of view This Special Issue solicits original work that must not be under consideration for publication in other venues. Please submit an extended abstract (maximum two-pages, including your approach and innovation) through the journal website: em.majlesi.info. Authors of selected abstracts will be invited to submit the full papers in the second round. Important Dates: • October 15, 2013: Deadline for extended abstract submission • Dec ember 15, 2013: Completion for first-round of reviews • March 1,2014: Deadline for full paper submission • May 15, 2014: Final decision notification • January 1, 2014: Publication materials due |
