Additionally and according to the reviewers’ recommendations, authors of selected papers will be invited to extend the paper for publication in a selected journal. Only original contributions will be accepted. The research papers should describe relevant techniques and technologies to the development of collaborative systems, theories, models, and empirical studies about the usage and impact of groupware in organizations, communities, and society. ----------------------------------- # Topics of Interest # ----------------------------------- The SBSC is an important forum for researchers, students, and professionals to discuss issues, techniques, solutions, innovations, and experiences. The discussions comprehend under various perspectives, aspects of development of collaborative systems, social interactions, and applications in various domain areas. The list of topics includes, but is not limited to: * Development of Collaborative Systems - Evaluation of collaborative systems - Artificial Intelligence support for collaboration - Distributed Systems and peer-to-peer applications for collaboration - Multi-agent systems for collaboration - Technologies for the development of collaborative systems (architectures, frameworks, components, middleware, etc.) * Social Interaction in Collaborative Systems - Computer Mediated Communication - Context and awareness in collaborative systems - Case studies, ethnography, and action research in the context of groups - Knowledge management and group memory - Methods for collaboration investigation - Reputation, recommendation, collective intelligence - Security and privacy in collaborative systems - Meetingware, negotiation, and group decision - Theories and models of computer-supported collaboration - Workflow, process management, and coordination * Collaborative Systems Applied to Domains - Virtual and augmented reality environments - Computer Supported Collaborative Learning - Mobile Collaboration - Distributed software development - Multi-user games and digital entertainment - Innovative devices of interaction - Social networks, groups, virtual communities - Technologies for collaboration in the Web 2.0 ---------------------------------- # Types of submission # ---------------------------------- * Technical Full Paper * Full papers of 6-8 pages that present ideas, theories, models, original experimental results, or other technical contributions. The papers will be evaluated according to its relevance, originality, and presentation quality. The paper should include descriptions of the research problem, proposed solution, evaluation of the proposal, results, comparisons, and related work. * Full paper about collaborative tools and systems * Full papers of 4-8 pages that present collaborative systems or tools with innovative approach to collaboration support. The papers should include description of the motivation, main functionalities, and some evaluation of the tool. A link to short video showing the functionalities or to the tool itself is expected in the paper. * Short paper * Short paper of 2-4 pages that present on-going research. The short paper should include description of the motivation, goal, proposal, the research methodology and, if available, some preliminary results. * Workshop of thesis and dissertations * Drafts of 3-6 pages that report on-going research of master and PhD work. The report should include description of the motivation, goal, proposal, research methodology and, if available, some preliminary results. The goal of the workshop is to promote the discussion about the proposals and methodologies, and provide suggestions of alternatives and complementary work. ---------------------------------- # Submission Information # ---------------------------------- Papers can be written in Portuguese or English. Authors should submit to the webpage (https://submissoes.sbc.org.br/home.cgi?c=1147). Please follow the IEEE Computer Society Press Proceedings Author Guidelines to prepare your papers. The guidelines are available in http://www2.computer.org/portal/web/cscps/formatting For papers that involve quantitative data, we suggest that the data and results are available in a website referenced in the paper. The availability of data helps the review process, and after the paper publication, the data and results can be used for comparison in other research work. -------------------------------- # Important dates # -------------------------------- Full technical papers and papers about tools: * Submission: May 16, 2010 * Notification of Acceptance: June 20, 2010 * Final manuscripts: July 05, 2010 Short papers: * Submission: June 30, 2010 * Notification of Acceptance: July 26, 2010 * Final manuscripts: August 09, 2010 ------------------------ # Chairs and Committee # ------------------------ ** Program Co-Chairs ** Marco Aurélio Gerosa (IME/USP) Celso Hirata (ITA) ** Organization Co-Chairs ** Adriana S.
