AVANCA | CINEMA 2013
International Conference Cinema – Art, Technology, Communication Date: 24 to 28 July, 2013 Place: Avanca – Portugal Abstracts submission should be made until 27 February 2013 In July 2013 the AVANCA | CINEMA will hold its 4th edition, bringing together researchers whose works are focused on cinema and its connection with art, communication and technology. In three editions we have counted on the presence of 507 participants, 406 presentations and the publication of 466 communications that filled 3511 pages in four volumes published by "CCA" editions. We have received participants from 27 countries from the 5 continents and some saw their communications awarded the "Eng. Fernando Gonçalves Lavrador Prize" or “IAMS Prize". AVANCA | CINEMA is a unique meeting point by the conjunction with the Film Festival AVANCA and it’s a privileged place of publication, reflection and debate of the latest research around cinema. During these 5 days in July, researchers, academics, filmmakers, producers, actors, critics, technicians and film lovers from all over the world will be together in Avanca. A conference taking place among the movies and the public of a festival. AVANCA 2013 hosts workshops, film screenings, book presentations, roundtables, plenary and parallel sessions, as well as being a movie factory that, on those days, will invade all the places and wills. Again, we’re counting on you for this double cinephile event! The authors are invited to submit works in the following topics mentioned below (but not restricted to these): Cinema – Art The arts and memory; Performative arts; Plastic arts and cinematography; Critic and cinematography theory; Screenplay writing and creativity; Aesthetic and semiotic; History and love of the cinema; Literature and cinema; Music and sound in cinema; Cinema – Technology Spaces architecture; Subtitling, dubbing, and audio-description; Idioms for minorities; New technologies and cinema; The place of internet; Supports, formats and new “media”; Cinema – Communication Cinema and pedagogy; Social Communication, public space and society; Economy and marketing; Academic and professional education; Social Internet and filmic space; Audiovisual policy; Cinema – Cinema Documental cinema; Fiction between real image and animation; Biographies, filmographies and genres; Cinematographic and audiovisual production; Abstracts submission should be made until 27 February 2013 through the entry form available at http://www.avanca.org/EN/call_resumos_en.html The abstracts submission must follow these parameters: - Between 100 and 250 words in English; - Title in one of the four official languages and in English; - 5 key-words in English.
