Human Centred Design for Intelligent Environments (HCD4IE) is a series of workshops addressing the recent advances in the both areas of Human Centred Design (HCD) and Intelligent Environments (IEs) and particularly discuss ways of applying HCD to develop user-centred and transparent IEs. The series of workshops will serve as a forum for bringing together researchers from both communities of HCD and IEs to overview the opportunities for bridging the two areas and to draw a roadmap for future avenues to enhance the serviceability and usability of IEs. This year, we are pleased to announce our 2nd workshop in conjunction with BCS HCI 2018 conference at Ulster University, Belfast.
The workshop will cover the following topics (but not limited to): - Technologies e.g. wearable technologies, sensing technologies and assistive technologies. - Interactions across ubiquitous and pervasive technologies e.g. virtual reality and augmented reality. - Human Centred Design approaches e.g. context of use; participatory design, inclusive design and multimodal interactions. - Applications areas e.g. smart systems (homes, cities, rooms, materials, etc.), ambient assisted living, telecare, telehealth, mobility, social robotics and industrial case studies. Submissions and publications Accepted workshop papers will be included in conference proceedings and published in the BCS e-WIC repository and in the ACM Digital Library. Papers should be anonymised, not exceed 4 pages (excluding references), follow the eWiC template and submitted via EasyChair at https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=bhci2018. |
