ORGANIZATION
Because of the corona virus pandemic, this year FPDAPP will be organized as a virtual event. The online modality will attract a larger audience: for this reason, the attendance to FPDAPP workshop, as well as to all of the EURO-PAR events will be open for everybody through a free registration (single fee will be billed for each published paper to cover the operational costs). FPDAPP program will include a session dedicated to the open discussion on workshop topics, as well as the accepted paper presentations and invited speakers.

AIM OF THE WORKSHOP
Blockchain technologies (BCTs) make agreement amongst untrusted parties possible, without the need for certification authorities. Proposed frameworks have been put forward in sector as diverse as finance, health-care, notary, intellectual property management, identity, provenance, international cooperation, social good, and security to cite but a few. Smart contracts, i.e. self-enforcing agreements in terms of executable software running on blockchains, have been developed in several contexts. Such an under-definition computational model introduces innovative aspects, such as the economics and trust of the decentralised computation relying on the shared contribution of peers and their decentralised consensus.

FPDAPP aims to rigorously explore and evaluate the potentiality of such novel decentralised frameworks and applications. Of particular interest is the evaluation and comparison of killer applications that are showing evidence of how BTC can revolutionize their domains or developing new application areas. Evaluation and comparisons are broadly understood, form technical aspects regarding the novel decentralised computer to the possible impact on society, business and the public sector.

FPDAPP is associated to Europar, a premier conference in the field of distributed computing, focuses on matching theory with practice and applications. Importantly, FPDAPP aims to foster the cross-fertilisation between the blockchain and the distributed/parallel computing communities, which can strongly contribute to each other development. In this regard,

PUBLICATION
All submitted research papers will be peer-reviewed. Only contributions that are not submitted elsewhere or currently under review will be considered. Revised accepted papers that have been presented at the workshop will be included in the workshop post-proceedings published by Springer in the ARCoSS/LNCS series or in a indexed journal special issue (under negotiation). Published papers will be in between 10 and 12 page long.
One author of each accepted paper is expected to register and present the paper at the workshop (due to the virtual settings, registration fees will be very low and will cover only the operational costs).


SUBMISSIONS
Submissions must be in PDF format and should not exceed 12 pages (including references) in the Springer LNCS style. Complete LaTeX sources must be provided for accepted papers.

Revised accepted papers that have been presented at the workshop will be included in the workshop proceedings published by Springer in the ARCoSS/LNCS series. Revised papers will be in between 10 and 12 page long.
