Introduction
Today, there is a growing need to evolve more intelligent software systems in order to respond to increasing complexity and sophistication of automating human tasks. There is indeed the need for ‘smart’ software systems in virtually all fields of application ranging from business, commerce, engineering, science, arts, medicine and much more. Software need become more intelligent. Additionally, it is also essential that these intelligent software applications are made deployable on diverse platforms such as mobile, web, and grid. It is believed that these kinds of systems can only be realized when innovative problem solving concepts and technologies from the field of Artificial Intelligence are integrated into the software development process to produce intelligent software systems or intelligent components wrapped in software. The Conference and Workshop is intended to provide a forum for exchanging experience and ideas among researchers and practitioners who are concerned with the need to develop more intelligent software systems. It is out to harvest emergent ideas, concepts, theories, tools, technologies, algorithms, process models, hybrid methodologies that would engender the development of high utility intelligent software systems in various fields of application. Conference Call for papers SEIS 2010 welcomes papers dealing with theoretical, methodological, experimental, and application aspects. In particular, but not exclusively, we solicit papers about methodologies, models, and tools that enable the realization of intelligent software systems for the following topics: • Case-Based Reasoning • Genetic Algorithms • Ontology • Semantics • Fuzzy Logic • Knowledge Engineering • Neural Networks • Software Agents • Machine Learning • Hybrid Approaches • Data Mining • Natural Language Processing • Statistical Learning. Application Areas • Biology & Bioinformatics • Education & Distance Learning • Medicine & Health Care • e-commerce / m-Commerce • e-Health • e-Procurement • e-Education • e-Science • Multi-modal System • Telecommunications • Grid • Finance and Banking. Submission Guidelines We are interested in high quality research papers. Interested authors should submit electronic versions of their papers to seisconference2010@covenantuniversity.com or seisconference2010@gmail.com by email. Papers should be submitted in MS Word or PDF format. The results described must be unpublished and must not be under review elsewhere. Submitted papers must conform to the Springer LNCS layout rules, as can be found here: http://www.springer.com/computer/lncs?SGWID=0-164-7-72376-0. (See website for details). All papers will be pair reviewed by at least two members of the program committee of the conference. Publication All accepted papers will be published in a volume of Proceedings to be distributed at the conference. In addition, a number of papers presented at the conference will be selected for resubmission in expanded form, for publication in the following journals: - International Journal of Computer Science and Systems (IJCSS) - International Journal of Computer Information Systems and Industrial Management Applications - Journal of Information Assurance and Security Important Dates Paper Submission Due: April 18th, May 9th, 2010 Notification of Acceptance: May 18th, May 31st, 2010 Camera-Ready Version Due: June 1st, June 8th, 2010 Registration Deadline: June 15th, 2010 (for Conference and Workshop). For further information, visit: www.covenantuniversity.com/seisconference2010 SEIS 2010 Workshops The following workshop tracks will run during the SEIS 2010 conference: • SEIS Workshop Track on Soft Computing Techniques. – 3 sessions. • SEIS Doctoral Symposium – 3 sessions. • SEIS Workshop Combined Tracks on Strategic IT-Planning, etc – 3 sessions. • SEIS Workshop Track on: Semantic Technologies, Web 3.0 Applications and Semantics-based Computing – 3 sessions. Call for Doctoral Proposals The 2010 SEIS Doctoral Symposium provides a forum for both early and late-stage PhD students, working on foundations, techniques, methods and tools in the area of Software Engineering and Artificial Intelligence, to present their research and get detailed feedback and advice. The main objectives are to: •Provide a forum whereby students receive constructive feedback from other researchers on their research and guidance on future directions. •Provide students with a forum for building a network of other PhD students as well as with more senior researchers. •Assist PhD students to practice writing clearly and to effectively present their research proposal. •Assist students in the selection of an adequate research methodology for their PhD work. •Build bridges for potential research collaboration which will provide PhD students with an opportunity to present and to discuss their research with senior researchers in a constructive and friendly atmosphere. For further guideline visit: http://www.covenantuniversity.com/seisconference2010/doctoralsymposium.html Important Dates for Doctoral Symposium: Submission Deadline: April 30th, May 15th, 2010 Notification of Acceptance: May 30th, 2010 Symposium Presentation: July 6th, 2010 |
