2019 IEEE Global Conference on Internet of Things
(2019 IEEE GCIoT) “Towards A More Connected World!” December 4 – 7, 2019 Jumeirah Emirates Towers Dubai, UAE It’s our pleasure to invite you to submit your papers/posters/demo proposals for the 2019 IEEE Global Conference on the Internet of Things (2019 IEEE GCIoT) that will be held on 4-7 December 2019, Jumeirah Emirates Towers, Dubai, UAE. The conference is technically co-sponsored by IEEE R8, IEEE IoT Initiative, and IEEE UAE Section. 2019 IEEE GCIoT aims to provide a forum for researchers from both academic and industry fields to share their latest research contributions and exchange knowledge with the common goal of shaping the future of IoT and smart sustainable cities. Contributed papers are solicited describing original works in these fields and related technologies. The conference program will include paper presentations, poster sessions and project demonstrations, along with prominent keynote speakers and industrial-focused workshops. There will be three tracks in the conference: technical track, governmental track, and industrial track. The industrial track will include a one-day focused Industry Summit. 2019 IEEE GCIOT is pleased to confirm the prestigious IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management (ABS 3/Q1) and IEEE Engineering Management Review as our supporting journals. Selected best papers from the technical track (typically, academic papers) will be invited to submit their papers to IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management. Selected best papers from Government and Industry tracks (typically, shorter and more practitioner-focused) will be invited to submit their papers to the IEEE Engineering Management Review. At 2019 IEEE GCIOT, the Editor-in-Chief of IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, Professor Tugrul (Portland University) will chair a “ Meet the Editor” workshop to provide publication advice to early career researchers and introduce new areas and Special Issues in the journal. Delegates at 2019 IEEE CGIOT will have the opportunity to join a range of IEEE Technology and Engineering Management Society (TEMS) Technical Activities Committees (TACs) focusing on Project Management, Design and Process Management, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, etc. (AI, Blockchain, Managing and Recruiting Minorities in the Tech Industry and Sustainability/Creating https://www.ieee-tems.org/). We will also be launching several new Special Interest Groups (SIGs) in Shared Value. Membership and leadership opportunities in new SIGs will be open to delegates at 2019 IEEE GCIOT. We encourage potential authors and delegates to consider becoming a member of IEEE and IEEE TEMS in order to gain many benefits including a discounted registration fees at GCIOT 2019 Join IEEE TEMS ** For the technical track, the topics of interest include, but are not limited to: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- #Topic area 1: IoT Applications and Services • Architectures of IoT services • Smart homes, cities and grids fundamentals and issues • Smart Health • Smart supply chain and framing • Smart Manufacturing • Smart Transportation • Tools and technologies for IoT services • Business models for IoT applications • IoT Environmental Applications • Data Collection and Big Data in IoT #Topic area 2: Connectivity and Networking • 5G Networks and IoT • IPv6 for IoT • IoT Standards • Routing and Transport Protocols for IoT • IoT short-range communications • Network planning #Topic area 3: Security and Privacy for IoT • Cryptography, Key Management, Authentication and Authorization for IoT • IoT Privacy and Security Concerns Tests, Certification, and Labelling • IoT Security of Smart Sustainable cities • Physical/MAC/Network Attacks on the Internet of Things (IoT) • Security with QoS Optimization in IoT #Topic area 4: Electronics and Signal processing for IoT • IoT sensors and actuators • IoT low Power devices • Energy optimization in IoT • Optimization of data traffic and latencies • Machine-to-Machine Communications for Smart Environments • Smart devices and tools signal processing #Topic area 5: Experimental Results and Deployment Scenarios • IoT System Modeling and Analysis Performance • Real case deployment scenarios and results • IoT Deployment on Agriculture, Retails, Smart Sustainable Cities, etc. • Testbeds and experiments for the Internet of Things smart sustainable cities • IoT and Future Internet Architectures #Topic area 6: IoT-enabled Innovation and Entrepreneurship • IoT startups and innovation processes • Role of accelerators and incubators and IoT startups • IoT for social and environmentally-oriented innovations • IoT for government innovation • IoT and Big Data for business model innovation Selected best papers from the technical tracks above may be invited to submit to the IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management (ABS 3 & Q1 Journal). ** For the governmental and industry track, the topics of interest include, but are not limited to: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- • Closing the Gap between Research and Implementation • Experimental prototypes, Testbed and Field Trial Experiences • Real case deployment scenarios and results • Industrial challenges in IoT and Smart Sustainable Cities • Securing IoT deployments • Best practices and examples for Data Governance and Analytics • Real case deployment scenarios and results • IoT and Future Internet Architectures • IoT Standardization and Regulation • Privacy, Identification and Authentication Issues Also, we seek proposals for a Panel/Invited Session or a Tutorial of general interest and relevance to IoT.
