Call For Papers

The increasing use of remote storage and services, referred to as the Cloud, and increasing prevalence of Smartphone devices presents new challenges for digital forensics practitioners. In the case of Cloud computing, the challenges range from the very technical of how to acquire data, through to the legal challenges of jurisdiction and access to data. Smartphone’s provide an additional challenge vector in that the only trace of access to a Cloud service may have been from a mobile device. Statistics continue to show the increasing use of information technology for illicit or illegal activities, making finding solutions to these issues a priority. These challenges make ongoing research and engagement an essential part of being a digital forensic practitioner or researcher. The aim of ADF 2012 is to foster the exchange of information and increase knowledge amongst the digital forensics community. Academia, law enforcement and industry representatives are all invited to participate and to help achieve this aim.

Papers are invited in the following areas, but not limited to:
• Computer forensics
• Network forensics
• Small device forensics
• Smartphone forensics
