3rd International Workshop on Architectures for Future Mobile
Computing and Internet of Things (FMCIoT' 2022) https://fmciot2022.cs.aau.dk/ held in conjunction with the 20th International Conference on Service-Oriented Computing (ICSOC 2022). November 29 - December 2, 2022 Sevilla, Spain https://icsoc2022.spilab.es/ ********************************************************************** ************************************************** Submission deadline: September 25, 2022 Paper notifications: October 23, 2022 Paper camera ready due: October 30, 2022 Early registration deadline: October 30, 2022 ************************************************** Scope: ====== Mobile phones and Internet of Things (IoT) devices are the top two most significant categories of connected devices in 2022. With a more than 15% compound annual growth rate, they are considered one of today's hottest trends in academia and industry. Both Mobile phones and IoT devices integrate significant technologies such as cloud services, big data, cloud computing, and wireless networking (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 5G, …) in one platform that services the end-users. Regardless of the COVID-19 pandemic and different issues with the general supply chain disruptions, in 2021, the number of global IoT active endpoints grew by 8% and is expected to grow by 18% to 14.4 billion active connections in 2022. Despite this rapid growth, many issues at the intersection of Mobile computing and IoT are still challenging and need to be addressed. These challenges are related to the underlying communication networks, interaction with cloud services, security, the required Quality of Service, the availability of services, integration with next-generation Internet technologies, and many others. The FMCIoT 2022 Workshop solicits original ideas on the broad area of Mobile and IoT architectures, including challenges and opportunities, concepts, applications, and future trends that address the challenges mentioned earlier. The workshop aims to facilitate discussions among academics and industry to bridge Mobile Computing and IoT practitioners and make positive contributions to the field.
