The second edition of the International Scientific Conference TOURISCAPE – Transversal Tourism and Landscape, which this year will take place in Barcelona from 11th to 13th June 2020.
For a city like Barcelona, tourism represents both an opportunity and a challenge. That is the reason why we decided to focus the second edition of TOURISCAPE Conference on the debate about urban tourism - without forgetting other tourism typologies. To enrich the program, a number of activities are included in order to make us observe the Barcelona tourist phenomenon from different points of view.
The congress aims to gather researchers of different study fields, focusing on the analysis and/or projects of tourism and landscape. Architects, economists, geographers, landscapers, sociologists, planners, anthropologist and all the academics interested in the spatial dimension of this phenomenon are welcome to join us and to share their experiences.
The scientific objective of the International Scientific Conference TOURISCAPE2 is to discuss the role of landscape in the configuration and development of tourism. Despite the spatial importance of tourism, specialized research has not paid special attention to this theme. It seems that the debate about the tourist space has not been enough to fuel a full disciplinary discussion, even though it has been often the cause of the social disaffection and repulsion of the phenomenon.
