Call For Papers

13th International Symposium on Visual Computing (ISVC'18)
November 19-21, 2018
Luxor Resort & Casino
Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
http://www.isvc.net

The 13th International Symposium on Visual Computing (ISVC 2018), will be held
at the Luxor Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, November 19-21, 2018.
ISVC provides a common forum for researchers, scientists, engineers and
practitioners to present their latest research findings, ideas, developments
and applications in visual computing. In particular, ISVC seeks papers
contributing to the state of the art and practice in the four main areas of
visual computing: (1) computer vision, (2) computer graphics, (2) visualization
and (4) virtual reality. Of particular interest are papers that combine ideas
from two or more areas.

The symposium consists of invited and contributed presentations dealing with
all aspects of visual computing. In addition, it includes six keynote
presentations, several tutorials and special tracks, and a poster session. A
"best paper award” will be sponsored by industry. The symposium's proceedings
are published by Springer-Verlag in the Lecture Notes in Computer Science
series. LNCS publications are indexed by SCOPUS.

*** Important Dates ***

(All deadlines are at 11:59PM Pacific Daylight Time)

Tutorial & Special Track Proposals: May 28, 2018
Tutorial & Special Track Notifications: June 4, 2018
Paper submissions: July 2, 2018
Notification of acceptance August 13, 2018

ISVC’18 Symposium: November 19-21, 2018

*** Submission Procedure ***

This is a fully refereed symposium. Papers submitted to ISVC must not have been
previously published and must not be currently under consideration for
publication elsewhere. Each paper will receive at least two blind reviews and
should not contain names or other information revealing authors’ identity.
Papers will be reviewed with an emphasis on potential to contribute to the
state of the art in the field. Selection criteria include accuracy and
originality of ideas, clarity and significance of results, and presentation
quality. Papers should be submitted in camera-ready format. The length should
match that intended for final publication (visit the ISVC website for
submission details).

*** Attendance ***

ISVC is a premier forum for presenting and discussing current research in
visual computing. At least one author of each accepted paper must complete the
symposium registration and present the paper at the symposium, in order for
their paper to be included in the proceedings and symposium program. If none of
the authors cannot attend the symposium and present their paper(s) due to
unforeseen reasons, they should make arrangements with another ISVC attendee to
present their paper(s). Video or Skype presentations are not acceptable.

*** Tutorials and Special Tracks ***

Proposals are invited for tutorials and special tracks on topics relevant to
ISVC. Tutorials should address the interests of various individuals in the
field of visual computing including graduate students, researchers and
educators from academia, and researchers and practitioners from industry and
government. Tutorials will be held on Sunday, November 18, 2018. Special tracks
will take place during the main dates of the symposium and are intended to
stimulate in-depth discussions in special areas relevant to the symposium
theme. All papers accepted for presentation in a special track will be
published in the symposium proceedings.

*** ISVC'18 Steering Committee ***

George Bebis, University of Nevada, Reno, USA (Chair)
Bahram Parvin, Berkeley National Lab, USA
Richard Boyle, NASA Ames Research Center, USA
Darko Koracin, Desert Research Institute, USA
