**** CALL FOR CONTRIBUTIONS **** SPLC 2018: 22nd International Systems and Software Product Line Conference Sept. 10-14, 2018, Gothenburg, Sweden www.splc2018.net Follow SPLC on Twitter: @splcconf Follow SPLC on Facebook: www.facebook.com/splcconf ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Systems and Software Product Line Conference (SPLC) is a premier forum where researchers, practitioners, and educators can present and discuss the most recent ideas, trends, experiences, and challenges in the area of software and systems product line engineering. SPLC will include a highly selective program of research papers and industry papers, accompanied by keynote speeches, workshops, demonstrations, tutorials, panels, and a doctoral symposium. For the first time, SPLC'18 introduces a challenge track to advocate contributions of timely challenges in the field and of their solutions, as well as a journal-first track. We invite participation and contributions from academia and industry to the following tracks. TRACKS ===== * Research Papers We invite high-quality submissions describing original and unpublished results in all areas related to systems and software product line engineering, configurable systems, and variability management. Full papers present results of conceptual, theoretical, empirical, and experimental research. They must rely on a theoretical and/or empirical evaluation. Short papers describe emerging ideas and outstanding challenges along with possible approaches to resolving them. * Industrial Systems and Software Product Lines We seek contributions from industry that share challenges, successes, and adaptations of existing practices in all stages of maturity. We explicitly encourage papers reporting on applications of product-line concepts in emerging domains and of novel concepts in a product-line context. * Challenges We encourage participation from SPLC newcomers to work on solutions for challenges contributed by experienced practitioners or community members. In phase 1, we invite submissions of case studies that tackle relevant product line problems and challenge the state of the art. A case description can be (1) a particular data set with specific questions or (2) a call for a solution to a particular problem in a given context. The call for solutions to the accepted case studies will be released in phase 2. * Workshop Proposals We invite submissions of proposals for one-/two-day workshops in the field of software product lines. In particular, workshops on challenging, emerging areas related to the conference topics are sought. * Data, Demonstrations, and Tools We invite submissions of either product-line tools, of substantial datasets to be shared with the community, or of practices tackling current industrial challenges. * Doctoral Symposium We invite submissions by students who are at least in their second year of PhD. The submissions should cover the research problem being addressed, the expected research contribution, the research methodology and evaluation plan, a description of the results achieved so far, and a planned timeline for completion. * Tutorials We invite tutorial proposals. Tutorials may focus on introductory product-line topics, such as how to introduce a product-line approach into an organization, or on advanced tools, approaches, methods, and best practices. * Panels SPLC provides multiple opportunities for exchanging and discussing ideas and visions for software product-line engineering. The panels at SPLC 2018 is one such forum. We call for your proposals for panels on product-line related topics. * Journal First We seek to include already published journal papers in the SPLC 2018 program. Authors of published papers in high quality journals are invited to send a proposal to present their work at SPLC 2018. Also, authors can submit their proposals by their own.
