Call For Papers

Globaly, stem cell research, and therapy have been improved in several decades, especially in Indonesia. It has been supported by researcher and consistency of all researcher in the field of stem cell research and clinical trial. Any disease and disorder that happen in human body need a specific and different approach. Stem cell has potential to heal more than 250 degenerative diseases, especially thallasemia, diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular disease.

Thalassemia is one of the most hereditary diseases that have been found worldwide particularly in Mediterranian, asia, and southeast asia region. Approximately, 1,5% of the population or 100 million population worldwide has carrier gene of this disease. In Indonesia, around 6-10% population has carrier gene of this disease. Until now, the treatment of this disease still limited to conventional approach such as transfusion and reducing ferritin level. Research and clinicial trial of bone marrow transplant as the treatment for thatalasemia has been approach the fourth phase and the efficacy has been up to 95% (Sodani; Lucarelli, 2010).

Globally, cardiovascular disease has become one of the most etiology of sudden death. As we know that cardiovascular disease including the disorder of cardiac function, vascular disorder such as coronary heart disease, heart failure, hypertension and stroke. Stem cell research and clinical trial to regenerate myocardium and vascular has been successfully done at national and international level.

Diabetes mellitus is one of the most pandemic disease worldwide. According to WHO, approximately 21,3 millions population in Indonesia that have diabetes mellitus. Treatment for this disease still limited and highly cost. Nevertheless, nowadays stem cell research and clinical trial to regenerate pancreas have been developed.

Nowadays, many expert from the disease that have been described before, develop more research to find new treatment for those degenerative disease. This seminar aim to give more knowledge about the concept of stem cell and application of stem sell for thalasemia, cardiovascular disease and diabetes mellitus. So that, clinician can provides more knowledge about stem cell therapy for degenerative disease patient.
