Call For Papers | |||||||||||||
CIC is the premier annual technical gathering of scientists, technologists, and engineers working in the areas of color science and systems, and their application to color imaging. Participants represent disciplines ranging from psychophysics, optical physics, image processing, and color science to graphic arts, systems engineering, and hardware and software development. While a broad mix of professional interests is the hallmark of these conferences, the focus is color.
CIC traditionally offers two days of short courses followed by three days of technical sessions that include three keynotes, an evening lecture, and a vibrant interactive papers session. An endearing symbol of the meeting is the Cactus Award, given each year to the author(s) of the best interactive paper presentation. PROGRAM TOPICS *Color Perception *Capture and Display Material Appearance and Color *Color in Illumination and Lighting *Color Theory *Image Quality *Multispectral Imaging *Specific Color Applications SUBMISSION OPTIONS Authors have the option to submit either a traditional conference paper, which will be published in the proceedings only or a paper that will also appear in the Journal of Imaging Science and Technology (JIST) or the online open-access Journal of Perceptual Imaging (JPI).Papers submitted via either option will be considered for CIC presentation. *Option 1: Conference Paper Submission Original work on relevant topics will be considered by the CIC Review Committee when submitted in the form of a 4-6 page draft paper. Papers should represent unpublished work, provide a clear indication of originality, contain at least preliminary results, and include references to prior work. *Option 2: Journal (JIST-first/JPI-first) Submission Journal papers differ from conference papers in that they meet the standards of a peer-reviewed journal and are fast-tracked for review. Accepted papers are published in the journal, appear in the CIC proceedings as reprints, and are presented at CIC within the technical papers program. Before submitting, refer to JIST-first or JPI-first Author Guidelines and Information. **Call for Workshops Workshops are scheduled on Tuesday, November 13 for two (2) hours Topic Examples: *AR/VR/MR (augmented, virtual, and mixed reality) *Temporal color perception *Material appearance *360°capture *Gaming *Cinema *Cultural heritage applications *Medical applications *Machine learning Proposals should include a general description of the topic to be covered, the format of the workshop (i.e., short papers with discussion; panel; hands-on; etc.), and list of confirmed or potential speakers/moderators.
