2017 Comenius Association Meeting: Democracy in Education
Department of Human and Social Sciences - University of Bergamo, Italy Bergamo, September 19th-22nd, 2017 http://www.unibg.it/comenius2017 In the current global context, at a time where our planet is suffering at the social, economical and environmental levels, at a time where whole populations have to leave their countries because of major conflicts, of governmental crisis, of famine, of natural catastrophes, of terrorism, etc., the Comenius Association believes more than ever that there is an absolute necessity to invest all our energies in education and intercultural encounters. The Comenius Association is an international network of European institutions of higher education specialized in Teacher Training and Social Education. It aims to contribute to the development of the intercultural competence in training European teachers and educators with the idea that they will in their turn develop it in the future. It aims to encourage future teachers and educators to look beyond their borders and to open themselves to otherness. It aims to learn to appreciate our differences, to create tools that will help to understand other cultures better. It provides a large network of contacts, whose aim it is to facilitate exchanges at all levels and to promote intercultural projects and European programmes and other actions in the field of education. The general theme of the 2017 Comenius Association meeting will be "Democracy in Education". Participants are invited to hand in up to two abstracts for papers or posters. All proposals must be submitted to comeniusbergamo@gmail.com. Abstracts can be related to scientific research and/or good practices. The submission should contain a maximum of 1700 words, references included. Abstract have to be composed along the following formats: SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH (paper or poster) Title Authors(s) including affiliations and email addresses 3 - 5 keywords General description on research questions, objectives and theoretical framework (up to 600 words) Methods/methodology (up to 400 words) Results (up to 300 words) References (up to 400 words) GOOD PRACTICES (paper or poster) Title Authors(s) including affiliations and email addresses 3 - 5 keywords General description of the context, objectives (up to 500 words) Activities and instruments description (up to 600 words) Results achieved, materials developed (up to 400 words) References (up to 200 words) Selection and Publication Abstracts submitted will be selected through peer-review process. ISBN publication will be produced with all accepted papers. IMPORTANT DATES 15 June 2017 - Registration and submission starts 21 August 2017 - Submission ends 31 August 2017 - Review results announced 04 September 2017 - Registration deadline |
