Special Issue on Speech and Audio Technology and Applications Journal of “Computación y Sistemas” ISSN: 1405-5546 Important Dates: · Deadline for Paper Submission June 1, 2010 · Deadline for Notification of Acceptance/Rejection October 1, 2010 · Deadline for Submission of Camera Ready Copy November 1, 2010 · Expected date for publication: January 2011 Computación y Sistemas (CyS) is a quarterly published journal devoted to disseminate original scientific and technological contributions in the field of Computer Science. The aim of this special issue is to gather together a representative, prolific sample of the current research in Speech Technology and Applications undertaken in Ibero-America. It seeks for original manuscripts in English reporting results in areas such as: · Speech analysis and representation · Speech segmentation · Audio segmentation and classification · Speaker turn detection · Speech enhancement · Speech coding and transmission · Speech synthesis and spoken language generation · Automatic speech recognition · Language and dialect identification · Cross-lingual and multi-lingual speech processing · Speaker characterization and recognition · Speaker Verification · Signal processing for music and song · Spoken language technology for prosthesis, rehabilitation, wellness and welfare · Applications for aged and handicapped persons · Applications for learning and education All the contributions should present a relevant scientific contribution, according to the usual standards of the journal, and will be peer-reviewed. Submissions must be anonymous, with no author names, affiliations, acknowledgements, or obvious references. The length of the submission should be at most 10 pages (using a font no smaller than 10 pts and reasonable sized margins) including figures, bibliography and appendices. For formatting details, the general guidelines for authors must be followed, as indicated in http://speech.mty.itesm.mx/CyS.
