CLOUDit’10
The 1st International Workshop on Cloud Computing and Quality Assurance Cloud computing has emerged as the compelling paradigm for distributed computing over the Internet. As resources are virtualized, cloud computing provides to users the illusion of unlimited computing capabilities while abstracting the complexity of large-scale distributed computing. Offering such powerful benefits comes however at the price of additional challenges and overheads. CLOUDit delves into the complexity for cloud owners and cloud service providers of assuring a quality cloud experience that is in alignment with their business goals and the expectations of their customers. CLOUDit’10 will highlight in particular the criticality of management in addressing the issues of reliability, fault-tolerance, scale, and sustainability for the deployment of quality cloud infrastructures and the delivery of quality cloud services. CLOUDit’10 will seek to discuss the fundamentals and particularities of the management of cloud resources and services, and identify emerging trends in the area. CLOUDit’10 will provide a forum for researchers as well as practitioners in the field to exchange their ideas, share their expertise and leverage each other's experiences. Authors are encouraged to submit position papers that address fundamental issues of quality assurance in the area of cloud computing, including the management of virtual resources, large-scale distributed management, resource optimization, scheduling, load balancing, monitoring and auditing, SLA management, energy efficiency, amongst others. The workshop will be held in conjunction with the 2nd International Conference on Cloud Computing Technology and Science (CloudCom 2010). Scope Topics of interest include but are not limited to the following: • resource virtualization and image management • resource optimization models and tools • job execution scheduling and workload distribution • workflow management • monitoring and performance measurement • management of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) • outsourcing management operations • management as a service • self-management and management automation • distributed management and theoretical foundations • data-centers power consumption and energy efficiency • hands-on experience with (integrated) management solutions Paper Submission Authors are invited to submit at most 8-page original/position/work-in-progress/experience papers using the IEEE format for conference proceedings. Submission of papers to Cloudit'10 is through the EasyChair conference system at http://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=cloudit10. Accepted papers will be published by IEEE with the main conference proceedings.
