9TH IEEE INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP ON IP OPERATIONS AND MANAGEMENT (IPOM2009) October 29-30, 2009, part of the 5th ManWeek in Venice (Italy) http://www.manweek.org/2009/ipom/ ========================================================================== EXTENSION IMPORTANT NEW DATES Paper Registration: May 15, 2009 (new) Paper Submission: May 22, 2009 (new) Author Notification: June 30, 2009 CALL FOR PAPERS The IPOM 2009 is the ninth in a series of dedicated events to Operations and Management in IP-based networks. Recently there has been a number of highly ambitious international research undertakings and programs in the space of the future Internet design GENI and FIND in USA, FIRE in Europe, u-Japan in Japan and CNGI in China are few to be named. Building on the success of the previous events, IPOM 2009 focuses on network management challenges for the current Internet as well as future Internet design. We are particularly interested in network managementissues related to virtualization, mobility, service provision, security, multimedia, wireless networking, P2P applications, and future Internet architectures. Topics of interest include but are not limited to: - Self-Configuration, Self-Healing, and Self-Management - Managing Virtualization and Managing via Virtualization - Management approaches to the future Internet - Increasing Network Robustness via Management - Autonomic Network Management - Management of Wireless Networks - Managing and Troubleshooting Network Mobility - Traffic Modeling, Measurement, Analysis, Engineering, and Visualization for IP Networks - Monitoring and control of (G-)MPLS networks - Large-Scale Internet-based Attack Defense via Management - Botnet Management or Being Managed by Botnet - Management Issues for Intra-Inter-Domain Routing - Grid Networking Management - Management of home networks - IP services and network Provisioning & Restoration - Charging and Accounting for IP Multimedia Subsystems and IP Services - Overlay and P2P Networks Design, Operations & Management - Quality of Service Management - Smooth transition to a new network protocol SUBMISSION AND PROCEEDINGS Paper submissions must present original, unpublished research or experiences. Late-breaking advances and work-in-progress reports from ongoing research are also encouraged to be submitted to IPOM 2009. The IPOM 2009 proceedings will be published in Springer-Verlag's Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) series. http://www.springer.com/computer/lncs?SGWID=0-164-7-72376-0 An extended version of the best papers of IPOM will get a chance to be published in IEEE Trans. on Network and Service Management.
